Perfect place to spend weekend with kids - huge playground, probably the biggest and the most interesting i've ever seen- you can find there all sorts of stuff for kids of different age starting from 1 up to teenagers- entrance is free! There's also a track for 4weeled bycicles with signs and regulated crossroads to learn basic driving rules. There's nice lake where you might want to spend some time during hot summer days. There's also shower / toilets rooms where you can change your cloth and take a shower after swimming in a lake. For those who like golf - there's golf field. There's also mini farm with lots of different animals. Huge parkings around this place allows lots of people to enjoy here simultaneously. It could be crowded here on holidays and during summer. Some of the attractions should be payed separately.

I love this place it’s truly beautiful and amazing.
But using the restroom is a right and not a privilege.
Now my concern is that the staff did not acknowledge my concerns.
The restrooms at the back of the large playground are all locked, there is mosquito infested water nearby and hundreds of children everywhere.
No one wants to walk all the way to the front instead the parents are letting the kids urinate everywhere, even on the walls next to the snack shop.
I called to ask why it was locked.
They responded with I don’t know, I don’t have time.
They have radios to contact the grounds keepers to unlock it, but obviously there was no effort to fix the problem..
Imagine how frustrating.

A great park in the city Wachtbeke where you can find there a swimming pool, kayaking, a baseball playground (small for young people and big for adults), also a camping site, a huge place for a long walk, you can rent a bicycle for a tour around, there is also a train goes around to discover all the place, inside this park you can find HORECA 😉 (Hotel, Restaurants, Cafés..).. in two words it's amazing place to spend one week there at those difficult times of Corona!!
This place is full of rabbits which is really cool.
The intrance to this place is free. Geniet ervan!

Provinciaal Domein Puyenbroeck park is very big and very nicely developed and maintained. Very Lush green lawn, Lakes with boating facilities, garden with swings, slides, Rope bridge, and many more attractions for children are there. Birds chirping sounds, Bunnies and big Ducks are there.
Food areas are also there. Its worth seeing. Big parking space is there.
Entry is free .
Timings are 9.00to 21.00 hours.
I suggest check timings as it may change as per season.

Nice scenery. Some water activities only opens around 1:00pm. Toddlers and teens have separate outdoor playground. Mini zoo and mini train. Can be very crowded in the summer vacation specially during warmer days. I was impressed with the toilet, clean and with paper/handsoap. Restaurants available inside the park. Swimming is also allowed (except if there are red flags). Great for jogging, walking or just relaxing. Outdoor fitness area are free to use. Bicycles are not allowed inside the park. Ready your ID card at the entrance 'coz they will ask for it (adults or children 18+). Minimal entrance fee and cost of rides.

Sept 2020: In Corona-tijden rustiger.

Imagine a wonderful place for the kids to play, have good quality coffee - that says something in Belgium 😁, and a beautiful place to have a walk, picnic, all in nature yet urban enough. Amazing!

Small park with water body. Nothing specially and limited to surrounding people only. Can be overcrowded on weekend. Entry isn't free.

If you don't own a car, it may not be worth taking the risk to visit this place. Although the website provides instructions on using public transportation to reach the museum, it fails to mention that at the end of your journey, you will need to walk along the highway without a sidewalk.
Furthermore, once you arrive at the museum, the art exhibits can be problematic, mainly centered around deceased animals. I have no issue with artists using the remains of animals that have already died to create their art. However, it becomes deeply troubling when artists resort to killing animals solely for the purpose of creating their pieces. For example, I saw a "painting" made of dead flies, which is both unsettling and unnecessary.
The experience at the museum is not as enjoyable as I had hoped. The place has an unpleasant smell, and some of the artworks seem gimmicky, seemingly designed only to shock visitors. On a positive note, the open-air pieces are the most captivating, providing a breath of fresh air amidst the otherwise disappointing atmosphere. It's unfortunate that the museum appears to be somewhat neglected, given the friendly nature of the staff working there.

Private art museum, large outside and inside areas. Very broad spectrum of exhibits, a bit eclectic but perfectly lovable.
Friendly staff. Card payment only at the ticket office - the café accepts cash, if you want to pay w/ card at the café, they send you to the ticket office to pay there.
We spent a Friday afternoon both inside and outside and liked it a lot 🤩
Some areas outside could use a bit more gardening and some exhibits were showing slight signs of decay, not sure if a funding issue (post corona...) or part of the concept?
As we were passing through, we spent the night in a hotel in Hulst (NL) nearby, I can highly recommend the combination.

Might be the most awesome museum in Belgium. Weird installations and non standard art, inside and outside. A lot of emphasis on recycling/circular material use. Pretty creepy and unsettling or slightly discomforting stuff such as huge amounts of preserved animals, with some decomposing on the spot. Huge garden with a lot art 'buildings' and constructions using everything and anything from shipping containers to metal pipes, scaffolding, concrete blocks, biostructures, etc.
Also has a building dedicated to collages.
Temporary Panamarenko exhibit.
Due to the sheer amount of things to see, count at least 3-4 hours for a full visit.

Simply amazing experience. Its like having a bunch of twinkytwonky friends who occasionally take acid and go around to play with their powertools and fractalistic brains on an 11 hectares of playground. The difference is that you can, or not, partake and just enjoy all the beautiful creations. Kid friendly. It's great to wonder around and meet and talk to people. Get inspired.
I'm sure if used as an event space you would be amazed by its potential. A many great things to say about this place but you'll have to discover yourself. Why not get a little lost for a change. 😉
Always welcome for further tips 'n tricks.

Really wonderfull place, full of amazing art. Pieces and sculptures, some integrated into the gardens and nature. Passing by on our way to the coast, we stopped during a rainy day and only explored the inside exhibition with the kids. Although it is NOT a playground they we're amazed and fascinated. The current expo with pieces of Panamarenko is awesome. We will for sure come back this summer to explore the outside. For the hungry kids, they serve a nice priced 'krok uit het vuistje', enjoy it on their outside terrace! Big thank you for the Verbeke family to share their private collections.
