Sri Kattu Veera Anjaneya Temple

Sri Kattu Veera Anjaneya Temple
4.7Temple

Sri Kattu Veera Anjaneyar Temple is situated in Devasamudram near Krishnagiri. In this temple, lord Anjaneya is seen in slanting position. Thirukovilur Sithar is the one who understood the power of the place and let people know it.
It's believed that this temple was built during Vijayanagar Kingdom. Before many years, it was a forest area where the temple is located and so the name Kattu (Forest in Tamil) Veera Anjaneyar.
Another interesting thing that, there a Nandeeswarar rock which is located on right hand side of the main shrine and it's believed that Nandeeswarar is growing in size. Yoga Narasimmar and Lakshmi Thayar are also present there near Anjaneyar.
Devotees make prayers by offering a saffron bag with coconut inside which can be seen tied by priests in a area inside temple, with serial numbers. Then devotees go around the temple 11 times, chanting Jai Sri Ram holy mantra. It's believed that Anjaneyar will fulfil the wishes within 3 months. After the fulfilment of their wish, devotees will again go to the temple and get back the saffron bag by saying the serial number and make sweets with the coconut inside the bag.

On the side of Salem krishnagiri high way there is a small temple for anjaneya the monkey god.
The issue there is no parking for Cars .had gone on a weekend (sat) too much crowd and they don't know to manage the crowd.
The speciality of this temple is you can tie a dry coconut by paying 70rs and u have to go round the temple 11 times and u have to chant Jai ram Jai ram Jai Jai ram and u have to sternly put across your wish. One wish one coconut.
And once the angapradasam is over u have to inform the authories and place the coconut near the hanuman photo which will be tied to a bar if the wish is fulfilled u have to go the templw and take the coconut and break it and offer it to the temple priest he will do the pooja and u have to bring the coconut and make a sweet using the sweet and have it like a Prasad.
The nh44 is maintained very well and there is no need to take any diversions to teach the temple.
The place is getting developed ,maybe in the future we may get car parks and bike parking facility.
Better to visit on a weekday than a weekend

Must visit temple if you are near Hosur or Bangalore.
Well maintained and good ambience.
This temple is located at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu is said to be 2500 years old and Hanuman. ensures that the one wish which one pray with full devotion is said to come true within 3 months.
There will be counter in front of temple and Rs.100/- a saffron bag with coconut, betel leaves will be given to us which has a number written on it and one card containing the same number.
back to us. After darshan, need to do pradikshna 11 of the temple chanting the mantra “sri Ram jai Ram Jai Jai Jai Ram”. After pradikshna is over, the saffron bag is kept along with the other devotees bags separately for 3 months. It is believed that the one wish which you want to be fulfilled gets fulfilled, and once the wish is fulfilled you are expected to return and claim the saffron bag from the temple.

People say it's a very sacred temple which is situated in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu.
Our personal experience: -
We purchased a 'sacred' coconut for INR100 and registered our names with the temple authorities (they give a coupon with our name and ticket number on it), stood in a queue, and saw the deities. After doing 'darshan', we made 11 complete rounds by walking around the main temple chanting "Shree Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram" continuously.
After this, we mentally prayed before the God with our personal wishes, which are believed to be fulfilled by the God's blessing one day!
The temple also has a prasad serving area, and toilets.
We could not find a shoe keeping place near the temple, and had to keep our shoes in the open in front of the temple boundary. As it was a sunny day, so we did not face any trouble with that.

This Hanuman temple is very close to Krishnagiri Bangalore highway. We went on a Saturday and it was a decent crowd for the darshan.
This is Jagrut devasthan and it is believed that your wish will be answered.
Lot of devotees perform a ritual to fulfil the wish. The coconut is offered to Hanuman and the devotee completes 11 pradakshina holding the same coconut chanting Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram. Once the pradakshina completes the coconut is kept in the temple. If your wish is completed you have to visit temple and if it's within 3 months you can get the same coconut by giving the token you get when you first buy the coconut.
The temple is super clean and they offer the prasadam. Parking is on the road but you can easily get a place.

me and my friends decided to go for a long ride near 500 km we searched few location in Google Maps .As we got few good reviews about the krishna giri fort we finally decided to spend the evening at krishna giri fort.
We reached Krishna giri by 5:05 pm and asked few locals about the Krishna giri fort. One of the auto driver pointed to a hill top and told us that hill top is the fort, you are looking for and he concluded there is nothing to see there. He talked as if we were fools to travel almost 75km to this location. We almost felt very disappointed by what the auto driver told about the place. We were confused wheather we have to return back or to proceed towards the hill top.
finally we decided to go near the hill ,check it and return back home.As we reached near the hill few locals guided us about the path to trek which lead to the hill top.we found many steps which was built by rock and we decided to take few steps.
As we started climbing the steps we were finding it very difficult to climb as it was very steep, but the hill showed it's real beauty as we were going on higher altitudes of the hill. After travelling very long the steps were over and the path was very risky we decided to some how reach the top of the hill and we took almost 50mins to reach the hill top.The view from the top of the hill is mind blowing and you can see the remains of the krishna giri fort at the top of the hill. After reaching the hill top and seeing the mind blowing beauty we really felt happy that our trip did not go in vain.if you like to trek and loves nature you will enjoy this location for sure.
Krishnagiri Fort is one of the strongest forts in the Krishnagiri district and is now one of the monuments protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. The fort was built by King Krishnadevaraya of the Vijayanagar Empire.

You could park your car near the peepal tree which will be the first thing that you will see when you reach the starting point of the trek. In fact you could park anywhere near the trek starting point, completely safe. People living there are very nice and humble, do not hesitate to ask for any help. The area is a mix of Hindu and Muslim population, a Mazar next to a beautiful temple. Please carry water, do not take kids below 6 years of age, definitely not small kids. The trek is okay for adults but slightly dangerous for kids and elderly people with irregularly placed slippery rocks. Please take rest after every 10 minutes, drink water, keep some chocolates for energy and do not hurry to reach the top. You could see an old fort with stamps of Wadiyars, Tipu Sultan, Hyder Ali, Krishnadeva Rai and Britishers. I could see majority of people giving up and turning back, but, you will feel a different kind of confidence and accomplishment once you have completed the trek. Our 6 year old completed the trek without any help ( he is not a fast-food munching and mobile friendly kid). We were completely exhausted. But loved every part of this trek. Took one complete hour to reach the top, 30 minutes down and spent one complete hour at the hill-top.

Note to all visitors who plan on hiking to this fort: the trailhead is located at "Hazrath Jalali Laal Khan Nana Jaan Dargah". There, you will find the first of thousands of stairs which will take you to the top of the hill. It isn't a difficult hike for young people to make, but older people, people with disabilities, and heavyset people may have a difficult time hiking to this fort. Also, proper footwear (shoes, not sandals) is highly recommended, as is plenty of water. You should also know that while a majority of the trail is outfitted with stairs, some portions of it are rocky, and you'll have the scramble and climb up these small rocks in order to continue on the stairs. However, once you've reached the top of the hill, you'll be rewarded with a great view of the surrounding towns and countryside. If you explore a bit, you will also find the remains of the fort, as well as the remains of some more modern buildings that were built after the fort was. There is also a radio/satellite tower. Also keep in mind that while there is a road leading to "Hazrath Jalali Laal Khan Nana Jaan Dargah", it is not advisable to park there, as young children will likely pester you for a tip when you return.

Great place for a short hike. We were able to reach the top in 35 minutes. Views from top of the fort are great. There were some monkeys near top of the fort but they didn’t seem to be aggressive and stayed away from us for the most part. Steps leading to the fort are a bit steep but quite safe. Entrance to these steps at the base is surrounded by a lot of houses and a bit difficult to reach due to narrow lanes. We managed to drive our car and park it nearby inside the large compound of a temple. If you have a big car you will have to park some distance away.

ANAND U.P.ANAND U.P.
Some of the artefacts date back to Pre civilisation era.
Well maintained! 👍🏻
Small in size though. More buildings and shelters should be provided by the Government.
The board should look into reviewing the prices. I believe the entry tickets can be increased from ₹ 5 to ₹ 15-20 in this era.
Found it difficult to locate the exact entrance to this museum.
More children should visit this place.

It is a small museum, you have to pay entry fees of 25 if your a adult and wants to take picture. It's calm place so can spend a hour or half an hour there. Good collections of things in and around Krishnagiri is kept there. If you visit it you will get idea of forts around Krishnagiri to explore.
