Athens’ food scene truly exceeded my expectations! During my two-day trip, I devoured four incredible meals. 📍 Street Souvlaki A local favorite! Think "Greek-style Zibo BBQ" �. €10/person. This place is a gem! Every skewer comes with a fluffy flatbread 🌯. We tried chicken, pork, beef, and lamb (2 skewers each)—all freshly grilled. The pork was the juiciest, while the beef was a bit chewy. The flatbread had a milky aroma. DO NOT miss this spot—I’ll cry if you do!!! 📍 Tzitzikas & Mermigas A top-rated restaurant near Constitution Square 🏛️. €13/person. Must-try: Trilogy of Mushrooms 🍄—succulent mushrooms with a tangy sauce. The Mastihato chicken was slightly dry, but pairing it with lemon juice and zucchini helped. 📍 Atlantikos Budget-friendly Greek seafood heaven 🦞. €18/person. Perfect for Chinese taste buds! Loved the jumbo shrimp 🦐. The fried small fish and squid were average. Skip the leafy greens—they’re overly sour and salty. Note: It’s hidden in a lively alley (check the map carefully!). 📍 Μαίανδρος A random find near Hadrian’s Library 📚. €15/person. Try moussaka—Greece’s national dish! Layers of eggplant 🍆, meat sauce, and melted cheese 🧀. Imagine lasagna but with eggplant instead of pasta—utterly addictive! 📍 Lukumades Traditional Greek dessert 🍩. €4.2. Greek-style fried doughnuts with endless toppings. Played it safe with honey flavor… but it tasted weird! Ended up giving it to a homeless person nearby. 📍 Nova Gea A casual spot in Plaka �. €9.5. Greek yogurt with honey 🍯—a must! The yogurt was silky, and the honey wasn’t cloying.
