Michelin 3-Star in Italy | Da Vittorio 🌟🌟🌟
As my Italy trip comes to an end, we made a stop at Da Vittorio, located just outside Milan, on our way back from the Dolomites. Da Vittorio feels like a hidden paradise 🏞️—it's a private estate with a beautiful garden, even a tennis court 🎾! The restaurant serves innovative Lombard cuisine (Northern Italian). We chose the 8-course set menu, and we all picked either fish 🐟 or meat 🥩, with various small bites in between. Honestly, it was too much food! The most interesting part was the dessert and herbal tea ceremony. Though some dishes weren’t exactly to my personal taste, €300 per person felt worth it. Here’s a breakdown of the fish/meat dishes we had: 🍽️ Pre-meal snacks: The shrimp seaweed tart was very fresh, but the fried tart was a bit salty. 🍽️ First course: 🐟 The tuna pasta was quite novel, and the creamy flavor enhanced it well. 🥩 The cherry foie gras reminded me of something I’ve had before elsewhere. 🍽️ Second course: 🐟 Creamy squid soup, the squid was tender and sweet, though the cream was too rich for me. 🥩 Veal offal with fried vegetables—it felt like German sauerkraut but paired in a refreshing way. 🍽️ Third course: 🐟 Caviar and half-cooked shrimp, with frozen cherries shaved like truffles 🍒—this was my favorite dish of the night! In comparison, 🥩 the mushroom soup was tasty but the ingredients weren't as impressive. The service was professional and warm, though the waiters' English could sometimes be confusing. And after 4 pm, most of the staff disappeared 😅—we couldn’t even find someone to pack our desserts to-go. The restaurant is stunning, but the air conditioning was lacking, so much so that the lady at the table next to us pulled out a fan 😆. Overall, we realized we preferred the Michelin restaurant Arnolfo we visited last week in Tuscany—I'll share that review next time! #FoodCriticContest #Italy #ItalianCuisine #MichelinRestaurant
