I'm sorry for not posting photographs however, my party of 3 for Valentine's Day was ready to devour a hearty, delicious Little Anita's combination platters. They have at least six however, there could be additional plates such as rellenos, 2 enchildas or carne adovada and enchiladas. We has #3, #4, and I had the #5. Again, it was a late dinner on a busy night but the staff was attentive, and the kitchen put out some tasty food served with beans and rice. The sopas were awesome, sometimes, sopapillas are no longer served with a traditional New Mexico dish -- not so here! And to top off the sopas, real, I say, real honey! In fact, we are going to return and make Little Anita's a regular go-to! The waitstaff was apologetic for a relleno that was missing cheese so they quickly made another one. The batter for the rellenos is authentic, not fake like what we are beginning to see in this age of taking short cuts. It was 3 years, 11 months since we've eaten at a Little Anita's location and I just don't know why they fell off our radar. We will be back! Left a 20% tip so it came out to $62.

NO OUTDOOR DINING! I specifically did a Google search for outdoor dining and it's incredibly disappointing to be lied to. During a pandemic, it makes zero sense to not have your outdoor dining available. Furthermore, Covid has run the staff down. Upper management (A thin older gentleman with glasses) is snapping at the staff to the point I became uncomfortable. He is very unwelcoming and cold. There is a beautiful outdoor dining area we asked about and he scoffed at us for asking to eat outside during a pandemic. His reasoning for outdoor dining being closed, "We can't hire enough staff." Truthfully, based off of what I saw I don't want anyone to work with you, Sir. I felt for the staff- they put on their happy smiles but if you sit back and watch, their faces tell a very different story. The morale is low and the management, especially the older man snapping at staff makes it difficult to work there and enjoy the meal. The food disappointed me too. In the past, I enjoyed the food, but this time everything was bland. If things stay this way I don't see this location lasting. To the wait staff and front-end staff, you don't deserve to be treated this way for a minimum wage or less or tips! That behavior is unacceptable in the workplace.

Nice people, but not authentic… me and my Mexican wife went here because the reviews were so good. But I am so confused. While the people were nice, the food was horrible. The salsa is straight up “Pace Picante Sauce”. I should have left when the sauce hit the table. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and my wife had Carne Asada. As someone who’s work in Meat for 22+ years I’m fairly certain the chicken is a precooked frozen chicken breast, that was so rubbery. Indicating pre cooked and frozen. My wife’s carne Asada was gross too. They served it with A1 sauce for example. Beans were cold, chips were pre made and not made fresh. The meat reminded me of a non graded beef or milk cow meat. It was also artificially tenderized or something. I can’t believe this place is surviving and all the reviews are good. I really think that old people from Nebraska must be coming here and raving about the food after three margaritas. This I would avoid if it were me.

We were hoping for one last great meal in Albuquerque, but we regretted that we chose Little Anita’s. Service was plain (the host couldn’t care less and our server was nice, but she was too busy), and food was disappointing. I ordered the Pollo Fiesta because I’m obsessed with green and red chile so I wanted to taste it once more before we left town, and I couldn’t eat it all. The chicken was chewy, rice came from a box, and vegetables were not even grilled -looked like they throw them in the sauté pan 2 seconds before serving the plate- . My husband had vegetarian tamales that came with beans, also flavorless and not appealing. We ate all because we had a plane to catch so we didn’t have time for a hassle. Never got drink refills. Sopaipillas were the only good experience we had. If I ever return to Albuquerque, I will avoid this place at all cost.

Maybe we went on a bad night. While it didn't appear busy, service was quite slow. Towards the end of our time there a member of the wait staff began loudly complaining and yelling at others in between checking on other customers. My water tasted very much like chlorine, but no one else at the table had that issue, leading me to believe my glass wasn't fully rinsed off. It wasn't dirty, because it definitely tasted like cleaning supplies. I ordered a different drink and it tasted fine. The food was OK. The bean dip was fabulous. My carnitas were shredded pork instead of the advertised diced. And felt like they were lacking something. Our next stop after dinner though was Walgreens to find some Tums to aid in something that didn't settle well. Again, maybe this was a bad night. But it wasn't a great experience for us.
