Order through Skip the Dishes (STD) and decided to upcharge my side the French Onion Soup. The "restaurant" confirmed the order and after waiting an hour for the food I discovered that my sandwich had no soup included (which $1.50 extra was already paid) and instead there were mashed potatoes and gravy (please note that this is a normal side)...so in essence, this place stole $1.50 and never mentioned anything about it. We called STD and let them know about the situation and said that we wanted the soup delivered as ordered. The Hell...I mean Haven, confirmed the order again...only to then say they didn't have French Onion Soup. After arguing with STD for over an hour, the "restaurant" graciousiously (*please note the sarcasm) offered to refund the sandwich through "skip credits"...more annoying conversation and we got the order refunded. Please note that this was not the only issue - the other order was a hamburger and the bottom bun was disgusting as it was soaked in pickle juice and under-cooked and the steak sandwich (the one that was supposed to come with the soup) said on the menu that it was served on garlic bread - let it be known that there was not one bit of garlic anywhere to be found on that bread. Please spend your well-earned money somewhere else and don't ruin your dinner/evening dealing with this...

The burgers they serve here are literally the best you can get, anywhere! Burgers are cooked to order and wellness requested, though mine was overcooked (I asked for medium, but got well-done - my girlfriend asked for well-done, and hers was correct). We both had the Haven burger (½ pound burger with American, Swiss, and Provel cheese, and bacon), and I'd rather mine be slightly over-cooked, than her's undercooked. They did not come with pickles, as indicated in the menu, so I asked for some, and the waitress brought a couple of pickle spears. Oh, well. I wasn't going to complain. So I cut them and put them on my burger. Nonetheless, both burgers were amazing. The young man that was waiting/ hosting seemed to be agitated, but the two young ladies were pleasant. The fries were just ok, but we didn't go there for the fries! I'd been dying for a greasy, juicy bar burger, for the longest time, and these were absolutely amazing, and totally fit the bill, and then some! Got a kick out of the menu, which read, "That's not grease, that's juice!" After a few bites of my burger, cheese dripping from between the burger and bun, to the plate, I held my "juice"-covered fingertips to my girlfriend, and said, "This is exactly what I was...
Read moreI wanted to like it because I’m in the neighborhood and the reviews have been good as well as recommendations but it just wasn’t. The Haven meatballs were tough and lacked flavor and I’ve had meatballs and subs all over the city- recommend lunch at Southwest Market for this and Biggies for a solid recommendation for dinner. My dads catfish was like mashed potatoes with fried breading, my sons spaghetti was water noodles with another tough meatball in the middle- reminded me of school cafeteria or banquet TV dinner. Toasted ravioli and chicken strips were good but beer selection was terrible( Id recommend they pick up a local tap from UCBC or Civil Life). I really wanted to like it but I’ll be giving The Hilltop a shot at the next corner, hopefully I can stay in the neighborhood. The highlight was the pleasant and hospitable young lady at the door- she even took drink orders and monitored the floor frequently to help. I’d offer her a job, I could see her doing the right things the entire time we were there. Hopefully burgers and wings are where it’s at and I may return with friends if just out to watch a game or something...
