This was suppose to be our last meal in Seranda before going back to Sweden. We chose a more exclusive restaurant since we had heard of their great seafood. Without exaggerating, this was the worst food we have ever had in our years together. First, we had to wait a long time for the starters, even though we were only two couples in the entire restaurant. The starters were well plated and nothing wrong with the taste. Then we choose their most expensive main course. They showed us the fresh fish and told us it was a bit pricy (70 euro), but we were happy to try it. They told us it will be grilled and served with grilled vegetables. After we had waited for an eternity, a man came out with an oven tray with fish, potatoes, bay leafs, carrots in a pool of water. It looked like something from a school diner. He started to completely dissect the cooked fish in silence in front of us, and carefully removed the bay leafs. Everything was incredibly awkward and took such a long time that the food was cold by the time he was done. He started to shovel the potatoes (with water) on to our plates together with the destroyed fish. However, we are not those people who judge the book by its cover. But too bad it tasted HORRIBLY. The fish was dry as hell and the not even slightly roasted potatoes an carrots only tasted like bay leafs. We tried to save it by salt and creative happy thoughts, only to give up after a few bites. We told them it was suppose to be grilled, the said it must have been a misunderstanding. We left the ruined and expensive fish uneaten. They did nothing to compensate, did not ask us if we wanted anything else or offer drinks. No nothing. We paid 70 euros for a perfectly fine fish which they destroyed, and I could have cooked it better myself. Save yourself some money and DO...
Read moreThe owner wanted me to explain my review so here you go: Beside some little points that borther me like the to small softdrinks (0,2 L instead of the common 0,33 L) are there two Main points that ruined my dinner in this Restaurant. Waiting. I had to wait ages for my food and my drinks. While you can argue that the food needs to be prepared you cant justify the long waiting periods for desserts and drinks with this explanation. When I ordered a Sufflé it took about 25 Minutes wich is way to long in my opinion. Especially if that Results in the ice cream beeing melted so badly that you could literally drink it with a straw. (That is not a joke) Illnes. After I went to NAM I got ill and had some Kind of diarreah for about five days. This becomes even worse if you have your journey home in this five days and do not always have a Toilette near you. My friends and I ate more or less the same during Our whole Trip to saranda and only the ones who ordered Tagliattele with Shrimps and Broccoli got sympotms as I described so it is not questionable that we had this problems due to Our...
Read moreIf I could give 6 stars, I would. The location is not the most quiet - near the street. But the price-quality ratio is top and you get to try some special dishes like a veal casserole. Just ask for their dish of the day. I ordered chicken with vegetables, mix salad and tsatsiki. The portions could feed 3 people. Everything was very tasty, they also brought bruschetta for starters and some watermelon as desert (as chefs compliment). My bill was around 14€, and they were so kind to pack my 2/3 of the food to go (big portions, as mentioned). The waiter was very good - attentive, always there when needed. He also spoke good English and gave super useful tips for sightseeing.
I definitely recommend this place, if you are in a mood for something rustic and good food - instead of paying for a sea view with some fancy appetizers in...
