Andorra is a beautiful country. You may like it more or less in winter, when the weather is very cold, but it's undeniable that it's a beautiful country. But it's a very special country. There are no taxes, which is great, but things sometimes are more expensive. Housing is expensive, restaurants are expensive... and phone service is crazy expensive. For instance, for each day that I connect to the Internet through 4G, Vodafone invoices €15‼️ Therefore looking for a restaurant on the Internet isn't really an option. A few weeks ago, we were looking for a place to have dinner after a long and tiring day, and ended up pretty much in the first restaurant that could satisfy everybody, without knowing whether it was good. That place is called Mama Maria. The first thing we did when we came in was trying to connect to the WiFi network... which didn't work... 😤 We were not off to a good start... But the rest of the evening went very fine. The staff was nice (even though the service was slow), the food was surprisingly good, well plated and quite abundant. And all this for a pretty affordable price, about €20 for a main course each and desserts to share in the center of Andorra la Vella. Of course, this was not the best meal of my life but it was good and the restaurant offers a wide variety of options, which makes it ideal when travelling with a large party and / or with kids (who always want to eat whatever the rest of the group doesn't 🙃).

Read moreWe were unfortunate to be drawn in to the bright lights of the Grill Restaurant whilst in Andorra today. Having reserved a table for 9:15, we were greeted by our not so gracious host five minutes before we were due to arrive. Although pleasant at first, our quinquagenarian host soon proved to be easily one of the worst waiters/owners I have ever witnessed.
After bringing us some breadsticks (which were nice) and explaining the menus, he proceeded to leave us to our own devices. For a whole twenty minutes we tried to get the attention of this strutting buffoon as he went from table to table, happily ignoring our attempts to at least order some drinks. After telling him twice directly that we were ready to order, both of which times we were met with “2 segonds” as he strutted like an obese peacock around tables, he eventually came to our table, silently with pen in hand.
After a cursory “que vols” we complained that we had been waiting for 20 minutes to order, at which point he laughed in my face and said “20 minutes? Really?” maintaining a wry smile. Then saying “well if you don’t like it please feel free to make other plans”. At which point we left. More than likely this strutting peacock was the owner of the restaurant, which would explain the arrogance with which he treats his guests. Needless to say, we...
Read moreWorst Dining Experience EVER! Horrible food and horrible service!!!! We made reservations for a Birthday the day before as a large group of 10. When we arrived the host was rude, arrogant, obnoxious and told us we had to leave because we didn't have a reservation. That was just the start of it. As soon as we ordered our food with starters and main course (like at any normal restaurant) the food started coming out seconds after the order was placed with no order and nothing was fresh. Plates were literally thrown in our faces rudely!
Then there's the food. Raw cold pizza, overcooked mush of pasta with even worst sauce, a 20€ stake with nothing but bones and cold. WORST FOOD EVER!
When we told the staff that the food was horrible and the pasta was overcooked and mush, the same obnoxious host came to the table and told me, and I quote: "THERE IS NO RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD THAT COOKS THE PASTA FRESH." At that point i just shut my mouth and decided it wasn't worth arguing with a complete idiot in the food industry.
NEVER EAT HERE!!! Like many have mentioned the McDonalds across the street...
