The best restaurant in Antigua. We were taken here on holiday by our friends who are regulars and highly recommended this place to all. Instead of the usual and expected ‘talking menu’ from Papa Zouk, on arrival we were greeted by Mamma Zouk? (It was Papa’s night off) She did not disappoint!!! She did give us an actual menu and some great chat. She welcomed us warmly this was new and a cool experience for both ourselves and our friends to hear the history of this popular restaurant how it began 25 years ago and the legend that is Papa Zouk. The place was incredible. Offering up a fresh vibe with true island atmosphere, soft reggae beats and a cool breeze floating throughout. The toilets will make you laugh with some rather risqué well placed reflection paintings. Start to finish top class service from both owner and staff. The food was truly divine and lived up to its reputation for being the best on island. Snapper was delicious and the sauce was WOW just mouthwatering. Super Juicy Mahi Mahi Bouillabaisse to die for Starters of conch and shrimp fritters were delightful. And the famous rum punch will put a spring in your step. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment. Highly recommended to all *****

The wait time here was way too long. On the bright side we ended up having quite a few drinks while we waited. The atmosphere is quaint and rustic. I liked the ambience. With respect to the food: The appetizers were beyond skimpy. There were 6 of us and the 2 platters we ordered were barely enough to be shared. I couldn't believe thats what they were calling a platter. And I was underwhelmed by the conch fritters although other friends enjoyed them. The saving grace for me was the fried snapper (main course)...it was so tasty with a perfectly crispy exterior while still being moist and juicy on the inside. And the combination of their vinegary pepper sauce/oil with mayo-type dressing on the fish was heavenly. Would go back just for that!

This was my second visit and it was consistently good! The staff was pleasant and very helpful. No complaints. The food was delicious!!!! I particularly enjoyed my fried snapper!!!! I couldn't have desired better. Regarding the atmosphere, it was such a nice laid back vibe. The icing on top was the zouk music playing in the background. My only complaint was the size of the restaurant. I'm not fond of small dining spaces, but that's my hang up. It's not going to prevent me from returning! It's also good to see that now payments can be done using a card. Previously, you could only pay with cash. If you've never tried Papa Zouk, please do. It's worth it!

We started the night with their house made ti rum punch, it was strong and delicious. The seafood here is amazing. They make their own passion fruit salad dressing and vinegar hot sauce. I had the lobster, fish and shrimp in butter ( it was incredible), my husband had the fried red snapper and loved it. Our friends are vegetarian and they said they would make a dish for them. Itwas okra, seasonal vegetables, fried plantains with a seasoning and they thought it was very good and would order it again. We ended the bought with local rum cake and local coconut ice cream, both were excellent.

"Love in a Glass" that is what I renamed Burt's delicious rumpunch. Tonight was another great night out and I would highly recommend. The "menu card" is shared by Burt based on the fresh fish caught from the day, he treats all his guests with equal attention & enthusiasm in sharing the menu. On this busy night we were so happy to have secured reservations. Cheers to the team for the warmth and atmosphere created! Oh I must add it was great trying a new meal, the Bouillabaisse. It was very tasteful.

Woaaaah if you’re looking for the BEST food in Antigua I have found it! Saved this towards the end of my trip probably my biggest regret or I would have ate here TWICE! Everything I ordered was insanely delicious, fantastic service, sweetest staff on the island, tasty drinks/dessert, did I mention GORGEOUS artwork surrounds this sweet homey local island gem!!!!! Order the boulibase, snapper, and coconut ice cream! If I’m back in Antigua I’m coming for more, this was my favorite place on the island
