Taste:
I ordered "Grilled Shrimps" and "Chicken Finger" so I could have variety for the review. When I received my order, I was flabbergasted. I honestly wondered if I got the right dish.
Obviously, my shrimp were grilled by faith and not by sight. I was also confused by the combination of rice and fries.
Let's comment on the taste. The shrimp were boiled (Not Grilled) with almost no seasoning (light butter). I appreciated that the dish came with lime wedges. However, there were plating issues. The wedges were touching the shrimp so some pieces tasted entirely of lime. The white rice was incredibly bland; no seasoning as well. Just boiled and plated.
Ambience:
Cheers Antigua is a great place to hang out if you just want to grab a few drinks at the bar. The free WiFi is another great element of this food establishment. It has a good set-up for a group chill session; indoor and outdoor seating.
Unfortunately, Cheers Antigua can get a bit crowded on the inside; especially during cruise season. In addition to this, not much was done to add to the atmosphere of the area. They focused more on images advertising menu items.
Stopped by for a drink and to hop on wifi. Had ordered a pina colada from the bartender and asked waitress what the wifi password was. She asked me if I was going to order something, I said I already had, and then she walked over to bartender to verify. When she came back, she grabbed my phone out of my hand (yes, she literally grabbed it out of my hand without asking) and typed in the password.
Sat down to enjoy my pina colada and catch up on emails. During this time, the waitress grabbed more phones from customers (some were quite reasonably angry and vocal about that) and turned away lots of non-customers wanting wifi. The pina colada was mediocre, and definitely overpriced even at a cruise port. When I was done, she came by and took my empty glass...and the can of Coke my wife had brought with her and was still drinking.
Poor service, poor drinks, but good internet. If youre still reading, as of 8 Dec 2022, their wifi-password for CHEERS-2 is "RUMPUNCH". No need for you all to suffer their staff's...
Read moreI don't leave negative reviews very often, but there are some things that people should beware of when going here.
I ordered 2 Drinks. The waitress said $13.00 (which is already expensive, but whatever), then brought my credit card receipt back reading a total of $26.00 and said no, $13 per drink. I ordered 1 12oz bottle of Carib (the equivalent of a Bud Light in US), and 1 8oz Rum punch ($2.50 and $4.50 respectively at another bar on the island). WATCH YOUR TOTALS. ASK FOR PRICES UP FRONT.
If you are coming here for the Free Wifi, you unfortunately won't be able to read this because their wifi cannot support the number of people in their restaurant that want to use it simultaneously. They'll give you the password, and tell you to keep trying. You might get on for a second after minutes of trying, but you won't be on for long after.
It's probably fine otherwise, but I really wouldn't recommend taking the chance. You have plenty of options in this...
