I went here on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I live in the US. From the moment my friend and I entered, it was just the two of us, there were no smiles and cold demeanors. A very un-welcoming atmosphere. We entered near the bar and a gentleman said hello and asked if we had reservations and the name on the reservation. I will say I made a mistake and didn’t complete the booking fully, I knew there were openings on Open Table, so I went ahead and made the reservation as I stood there. I was on vacation, things happen, it was my mistake. However, the attitude we were greeted with, and that stayed throughout the entire evening was unacceptable. There was a family of 4 that came right after us and they didn’t have a reservation, and he accommodated them. I am still unsure why I was treated this way. The service was so bad that even after we were seated and ordered a drink, I no longer wanted to order their food. The minimum to spend on food is $90 and I didn’t believe this establishment deserved my money with the way I was being treated on my own BIRTHDAY. The server that seated us didn’t smile didn’t give a warm or welcoming birthday wishes. The second server advised us as soon as we sat, that we have a 2 hour time limit because they are “so busy” and kept repeating how busy they are anytime we asked anything. She brought out the bread, etc; and advised her I didn’t want to order food, only drinks and enjoy the view. She stated the 3rd time, they are so busy and said we had to move back to table by the bar. She also glared at us the entire time we were seated because we didn’t order food. The view is great, but save your money. The customer service is 0/10 here. I had 2 drinks and left and went somewhere else to happily spend over $150 for better service for my birthday dinner, and I was ok with that. Read the other reviews about their service! Select lowest rating and see for yourselves. My advise to this establishment….TREAT PEOPLE BETTER, especially on their special...

I’m gonna be completely honest, the area, vibes, environment, and drinks were beautiful and really tasty. But I can’t say the same about the food, it was awful. I came with my family of 5, Me, my husband, daughter, and two sons. Again, don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere was amazing and the vibes were great, the food was disgusting, almost inedible. For starters we got the blackened wagyu fish; it was awful. It was chewy and had this weird taste of cumin that was probably the only seasoning on that fish. We also got the spicy seafood coconut curry which was okay, but the mussels were small and barely had any meat in them. For the main dishes my youngest son got the roasted pumpkin gnocchi, which was not even gnocchi?? It was pan grilled and had a weird taste, but the pumpkin sauce was good. My older son got the grilled dry aged beef short rib which was fine but it was chewy, had no seasoning and was a bad cut of meat. My daughter got the roasted chicken breast which was pretty good but the oyster mushroom was disgusting. I got the lobster ravioli which was honestly really good, but what a small portion, even if I liked the food I feel like I still would’ve left hungry because of how small the portions were. My husband got the seafood risotto and it was way too salty. After all the horrible food we were excited for the desert which was also horrible, we got the salted caramel custard tart which was disgusting. It was so salty like too salty, and it had a weird roasted taste. The yogurt ice cream was fine. The soufflé was bitter and the ice cream that came with it was rancid. We spent 600 dollars and came out hungry and disgusted, we stopped at a local pizza place to have some actual good food that will fill us up. My daughter was even embarrassed that she suggested this place. I recommend coming here for drink and atmosphere but...

Stay far away from this place. Zero Stars should exist for experiences like the experience we had at this restaurant. From start to finish my guest and I felt like a burden. We made a reservation for 9pm. We were really excited due to the location and atmosphere. Our dining experience was everything but a pleasant dining experience. They’re liars and swindlers. In a nut shell, nothing on the menu was available. They brought my appetizer and I swear there was a roach in it! They insisted it wasn’t a bug and they tried to tell me it was a bay leaf. I ordered the short rib, after 45 mins they brought me a dry steak and told me the short rib was unavailable. They brought me a steak and didn’t even mention they were out of short rib! They didn’t even ask me how I like my steak. They just brought me a well done over cooked steak. They also never once offered me an option to order anything else!!! My husband ordered the scallops and asked for extra scallops as opposed to the pork cheek because they were out of it! . After having a nasty attitude about it they decided to give him extra scallops at a $25.00 up charge. They still brought his plate with 3 scallops on it. My friend ordered the lobster ravioli and there was no lobster anywhere in her food. I’m assuming they ran out of it like they did half the menu. The customer service here is TERRIBLE. Not one time did they offer to remake our food for something else we might have wanted nor did they comp ANYTHING. In fact they charged us for the bottle of wine we sipped on for an hour in a half while waiting for our incorrect food. I can’t even list all of the things that went wrong. I’m beyond livid. I travel all around the world and I have NEVER experienced such terrible service in my life. I’m astounded honestly. These people should be ashamed...

This iconic restaurant was voted best restaurant in the Caribbean, not to mention Antigua, and for good reason. It’s absolutely gorgeous in every way. Located down a series of steps and built into the rocks, this stunning restaurant seems to blend into its surroundings. Natural materials, wood, bamboo, rope and linen are all used to great effect in creating the intimate dining spaces.  A pair of mongoose played on the branches outside as we sipped cocktails looking out at the most breath-taking coastal vista. You can choose to dine on the upper level which is more intimate and more sheltered than the more open, exposed lower levels further down the steps, past one of the two beautiful plunge pools. Impressive day beds jutting out over sea are available for relaxing after your meal. We opted for the tasting menu, which was excellent, all the dishes were tasty and beautifully presented, the wine list was extensive and reflective of the opulent surroundings. Needless to say, the staff we’re efficient, friendly and attentive. I’m sure the bill was certainly on the pricey side, but I couldn’t care less, it's worth every penny. If you’re on the Island, you seriously must visit Sheer Rocks at least once. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, then it’s a no brainer this has to be your first choice. Online booking is available. Wow, what a holistically incredible dining experience not to be missed.

Full transparency - the first time we attempted to visit SR on the way back from having driven round St John’s and Jolly Harbour, we’d hoped to stop and have dinner. But between arriving at the time the Cocobay hotel (in which Sheer Rocks is located) was doing fogging, the time (we’d missed sunset), the roadway in (the drive is full of potholes) and the unhelpful attitude of the Cocobay staff - we aborted. It appears the relationship between the resort Cocobay and SR isn’t an overly great one and CB isn’t very helpful to outside resort guests arriving to the SR restaurant… HOWEVER Earl (the supervisor of Sheer Rocks restaurant) followed us out and asked that we given them another try… and we’re glad we did. Our second attempt was MUCH better. We arrived at 5 pm and Earl personally sat us at a table with a gorgeous view of sunset for drinks pre dinner before sitting down for dinner at 5:30 pm at a neighboring table. My husband and I enjoyed the two course meal each - the pea and ham risotto was delicious, as was the red snapper and lobster ravioli entrees (albeit VERY pricey…) - think $280 USD for two. In future should we return, we may sit at the bar and just enjoy the a la carte tapas. BIG thanks again to Earl and his team for making our visit so very enjoyable.
