You know this place must be amazing as it has a 4.8 review as an airport restaurant. Literally a better steak than I had at a well known steakhouse in BsAs. Better service too. My server (canât remember his name. He was younger, not Mario, who was also very nice) was prompt and made sure I got my food in plenty of time. Salad was super basic, what youâre going to get virtually anywhere in Latin America.
Experience was a bit negative at first, as I was hangry, the setup was a bit weird, and they seemed understaffed. But once I got to a table, the server quickly cleaned a table and took care of me. He was fantastic. Good came out amazing (a ribey steak, but quite a bit different than an American ribeye). Perfectly cooked and salted.
Tips are only accepted in cash. Make sure you have some. I gave a 3 star for atmosphere solely because this is in an airport and you still feel like youâre in an airport. But it was nonetheless delicious, the service was great and prices, while high, werenât much different than what you would find in a nice steak...
Read moreLa Cabrera is reputed to be a Buenos Aires institution. While I didnât eat in the city venues, I thought Iâd chance their âal pasoâ brand while at the airport. I ordered the âOjo de Bifeâ as a final treat before leaving Argentina. What a mistake. Firstly, I waited for an hour - not great for an airport. Then they brought the wrong main course and cold sides⊠so I sent it back to wait for another 20 minutes. They didnât ask how the steak was to be cooked. But alas, when it arrived it was a product of flash frying expediency of something they found lying around the kitchen. Argentina was fantastic with many unbelievable culinary experiences. Donât ruin it on departure by eating here. And the service attitude was as raw and fatty as the...
Read moreBest way to kill some time at the airport, with steak and wine đ„© đ·! Wanted to have a meal before my twelve hour flights across the Atlantic, normally I settle for burgers at a large franchise but given that this is Argentina wanted to give this place a go. Wasnât disappointed.
I went for the Tira de Asado with some red wine, steak was very flavourful and tender and not overly salty in my opinion. The fries it came with were crispy and the complimentary bread was also quite nice although usually Iâd say the bread in Argentina is quite a lot better.
If you have the time definitely worth a visit when at...
