AJ Dulcinea Pizza Café Bar — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

My experience here was disappointing from start to finish. The moment I walked in, the owners and servers stared at me like I didn’t belong, and no one approached me to take my order—I had to get up and ask for service myself. Feeling unwelcome from the negative energy, I decided to order my food to go.

When I got home, I found they had given me a cucumber pizza instead of the pepperoni I ordered. I went back, only to be treated like I was inconveniencing them. The restaurant was empty, yet it took 10 minutes for the manager to help me. He casually explained they didn’t have pepperoni, so they gave me cucumber without informing me. That’s unacceptable.

The manager offered me a replacement pizza, but at that point, I just wanted to leave. To make matters worse, I was charged $19 for a medium pizza, which felt like a blatant overcharge because I’m a tourist. The pizza itself was a disaster—a thick, bready base with hardly any cheese or toppings. Honestly, I’m glad they got my order wrong because the food wasn’t worth eating.

Avoid this place at all costs. We ordered steaks (bife de lomo and bife de chorizo). They tasted stale and horrible. There was no seasoning at all. The fried onion rings were cold and a mess. The mashed pumpkin had no salt. It was the worst mashed anything that I have ever eaten. The portions of the steaks were mediocre. Not to mention, for a roadside walk in cafe/restaurant with horrible food, the price was higher than many other high class fine dining restaurants. Last but not least, the service was also bad. We asked for the bill that she acknowledged but just kept on doing her own stuff for almost an hour. Later, I actually took a menu, calculated our bill, went up to the counter and paid it myself.

Such a waste of our hard-earned money.

Edit: Replying to the response from the business. We had our lunch a couple of days ago, not today. I posted the comment today. I have already shared my concerns over here. It was one of our costliest but least palatable meals. Please ask your chefs to be more attentive or train them...

Ayer fuimos con mi pareja a merendar con tiempo muy limitado a este lugar (horario 15:30). Pedimos en caja un licuado de banana y dos medialunas de jyq, incluso pedimos que nos cobraran ni bien puedan en mesa por la prisa que teníamos. El licuado estaba rico y llegó a los 3 minutos, las medialunas nos dijeron que salían en un ratito. Nos quedamos esperando hasta las 15:50 que ya nos teníamos que ir, pensamos que quizá estaban con alta demanda. Al acercarme a la barra me encuentro con que ningún empleado estaba haciendo nada y cuando le pido a la moza para que nos dé las medialunas para llevar, va a hablarle al cocinero al fondo que se vé que se olvidó de nuestro pedido. Le pido a la moza que al menos nos de el valor de las medialunas de jyq en medialunas de manteca al menos, como para tener algo que comer en el camino. Aparece una mujer que no se si era la encargada o dueña a tratar de forma inadecuada a decirme que ya me devolvía la plata, que "sólo tenía dos manos", siendo que yo le estaba pidiendo las medialunas de manteca y no el efectivo. Al darme la plata, le pregunto a la moza si me podrían dar las medialunas, otro empleado me las envuelve y me las da, obviamente cobrandome $10000 las 6 medialunas (carisimo, pero bueno). No voy a volver JAMÁS. Lo único positivo que si voy a decir, es que la moza fue amable en todo momento. Debería haber controlado que estuvieran haciendo las medialunas si es que el cocinero se olvidaba, pero bueno, más allá de eso su atención muy bien.

Toda esta crítica la digo teniendo en cuenta lo que es un servicio normal. Soy gastronómica, así que sé cuándo un reclamo es justificado y cuándo no. No recomiendo en lo absoluto este lugar. Menos si...
