Boticario — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

This “bar” is a fake! It’s the second time we were here. And second time we spent around 2,5 hours on Fridays. Bar is almost empty upstairs every time. But what interesting is 2 times before (before our last visit yesterday) man at the door said us that there are no free places. That is quite strange considering the fact we visited this place twice and we didn’t see any problems with free seats at different time. Moreover, yesterday, when we wanted to seat upstairs, that man said we should wait because that part was closed. No one didn’t say we can go upstairs for a quiet long time. Finally we called the waitress and asked she again. Only then she accompanied us there. Upstairs we asked another waitress could we seat on a soft sofa. Waiter said she need to ask someone. We were waiting another 15 mins. Finally we once again ask by ourselves waitress what it would be a problem if we take another table with more comfortable seats. She refused and said she didn’t know maybe another tables were booked but anyway we couldn’t seat there because it for a group. We told her we need only 1,5 hours. We also asked was she sure that these tables were booked. She didn’t know but anyway she refused us as well. As a conclusion, we spent a lot of time there and nobody didn’t came.

This bar makes fake queues outside. Waitress are lazy and service is about “oh, what do you want from me??”

All cocktails are already prepared. They just open bottles and pour it in glasses. I don’t know why so many “bartenders” are there. Guys, it’s not a bar, really!!

Bar Boticario offered good drinks, a strong cocktail menu, and creative clarified cocktails. The glassware was excellent, with light, elegant glasses, and the garnishes were appropriate. I particularly enjoyed the variation on the New York Sour with nitrogen foam, and the Boulevardier was served impeccably with a large, crystal-clear ice cube. All drinks were aromatic and well-presented.

However, the bartenders were distant and inattentive, and seating away from the bar was uncomfortable. When I asked to sample a particular spirit, I was denied — something that at a high-level bar would typically be offered without even asking. This was a very strong negative point. Cocktails quite expensive and it seems super reserve bar, they told us there was no place and to several people they said the same and they left but they actually had a lot of space inside. I didn’t understand that, so always ask more than once. It’s a small place and the atmosphere is quite nice. The cocktails are really particular but be careful of the pictures that you see in google becuase they change their menu every 3 weeks more or less. At the time I went each cocktail was 950 pesos, they were nice and really particular drink. Always ask for raccomandation becuase they are pretty normal drinks and pretty strange ones.
