On a random corner in the San Telmo neighborhood sits a French restaurant owned by a French man with precarious hours. The staff and service are great, and the owner, as any owner of any restaurant is, beat up and worn down from the constant trama of the public (he sports the stereotypical French attitude and personality which actually is quite the show if you remove your own sensitivities and defensiveness).

The French onion soup is very flavorful. The Boeuf Bourguignon is fairly lean, but severed as the traditional smaller portion size that I don't personally prefer.

The stand out by far is the 3 variation offering of the Creme Brulee. I've never had Pistachio flavored Creme Brulee and it was amazing. The other two flavors are orange and vanilla. Personally, I preferred the vanilla, but that's my taste.

I also tried the Chocolate Mousse which was another 3 varieties, and enjoyed all of them, but especially the white.

I recommend sitting at the bar and enjoy the conversation with the owner and watch the master mixologist make the hand crafted cocktails in front of you. Not the mention all the random adornments of various objects in the wall behind the bar make for an enjoyable and...

Probably the worst service and most inconsistent food Buenos Aires!

I have been here several times and it really hit an miss with this place. Sometimes the food is good... sometimes it is not. But the service is pretty consistent.. always bad!!!

Today they started to by not bringing me a menu... I got up and fetched it myself! Once I ordered they brought my soup to the next table over... then they got my main dish wrong... only for the french waiter to tell me that that is what I ordered.

Needless to say I left!

Pascal... get some real waiters!

I send the owner an email and here is his response:

Thank you for your comments, all over the net...I will have appreciate that you talk to me first....please do not come back then.. All the best, Pascal

Now I know why the staff is...

DENUNCIA HAREMOS. Me preguntan qué pasó? Horror!!

Our server tried his best but the raw oysters were foul. My wife gagged on one. I ate one that was not good. We gave them back. He brought me another so I could open it at the table. It was foul too. I’ve been eating oysters all around the world for over 50 years. I know what good oysters taste like. Anyway, they didn’t charge me for them even though I said I would pay. I didn’t want make a scene. Otherwise, the place looks wonderful and the service was really well done. Perhaps other items are fine.

Mise à jour de l'avis août 2023. Repas excellent !
