I stayed here for 2 non-consecutive nights while on a group tour. The hotel is very centrally located in the San Temlo neighbourhood, a short work to the main square with the cathedral and Casa Rosada, and also the San Temlo market. I think there is a doorman 24/7, otherwise you need a key card to access the building, which made it feel very secure. The reception staff were friendly and spoke good English, and the check in process was smooth both times.||Both rooms were up to international 4 star standards. On my first stay I had a twin room, though both beds were practically doubles. The room was huge, and the bathroom area was very large with a separate bathtub, sink, and toilet & shower. My only concern would be that it isn't massively private if you're sharing with someone. For my second stay I had a double room, though it was a massive king bed. This time the whole room was slightly smaller, but still a very good size. The bathroom was also a bit smaller, this time it was a toilet & shower inside a bathtub, and a separate sink area. Common to both stays was that the beds were very firm, and also there was only a thin bedsheet, with a thicker blanket tucked away somewhere. It was a bit too hot without the air conditioning, but too cold with it on with just that thin sheet. Another annoying thing about the room was the lights situation. Both times there were 3 separate lamps in the room which had to be turned off & on manually. There was no central way to control them.||The breakfast buffet was quite nice, a bit simple for the quality of the hotel, but perfectly reasonable. It was a bit more fruit heavy than other places I've stayed in Argentina which was nice. We had dinner at the restaurant on one night as well, this was nice, up to medium-high restaurant quality standard.||Overall I had a good stay both times, I would stay there again though I imagine the place is...
Read more"Posh" is certainly not how I would describe this hotel's "spa". They apparently call their very small pool and hot tub a "spa" - which by the way is only open after 2pm and you have to pay to use them. The exercise room is nothing more than 2 broken treadmills, a small bike and elliptical, and 1 old bench with maybe 20 lbs max on one bar. That is it. They state multiple times on booking websites as well as their own website they have spa services such as couples massages. The first time we tried booking it at the front desk we were told they have NO spa services. The next time we tried, they said they could do a massage, but not a couples massage. This seems to be the true answer. We had 50% off spa services, but we were told that a massage was not a spa service and there would be no discount. The main reason we booked this hotel was the spa and exercise room. So if you are like us and these things are important to you - take note. You will have to pay to use the pool, which has very limited hours and is very small. There is almost no exercise equipment. And finally, no discounts on the absolute minimal spa services that are actually offered. As for 24 hour room service - NO. We checked in after 3pm and wanted to order off the menu shown by scanning the QR code at the hotel. Upon calling to order, we were told the restaurant and room service ended at 3pm, so we couldn't order anything off the menu. There was no option to eat anything at the hotel, room service or not. So certainly nothing close to 24 hour room service. In summary, there are lots of things listed in the hotel description meant to deceive you into booking a room at Kenton Palace. I don't believe this behavior should be tolerated. The hotel is not a palace and should be not be rated 4 stars by whatever rating...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights with my children aged 4 and 18 in 2 rooms. While there were many great aspects, unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience during check out. We were accused of “breaking a kettle” in one of the rooms. In fact, on arrival there was a crack and a small piece of the kettle lid missing, presumably caused by a previous guest. It was still working despite this so we had no need to report it to reception. We had to cancel our taxi and I was pressured into paying for a replacement. The man at reception was rude and intimidating (in contrast to the very polite and helpful man who was present at check in). He claimed the kettle would cost $88000 to replace - equivalent to GBP £44.00. I disputed this and he reduced it to $64000. As we were in a rush to rebook another airport taxi I had no option but to pay, rather than miss our flight. He did not provide an itemised receipt and had to be asked 3 times to give me my change from the tourist tax as well. He was sniggering with his colleagues and speaking with them about us in Spanish, as we could understand a few words. My 4 year old was very upset by this. I have been in contact with my credit card company who are kindly arranging a charge-back. ||||In order to ensure my review is fair I will summarise the other good and bad points of our stay. I’ve been reviewing here for years so this is a very unusual experience. ||||Good points - large spotless bedrooms, nice breakfast and friendly dining room staff. Great location. ||||Not so good points - chilly pool area, non- functioning sauna and hot tub, and...
