We had the pleasure of dining at El Estrebe, a charming restaurant recommended by our hotel and just a short walk away. From the moment we stepped inside, we could tell it was a popular spot—the atmosphere was lively, warm, and inviting, and the open kitchen added a unique touch, allowing us to see the skilled chefs at work. It’s always a good sign when a place is packed with locals, and El Estrebe did not disappoint.

We were a group of four—two adults and two kids—and weren’t quite sure what to order. The friendly server quickly guided us, suggesting a generous portion of steak, French fries, and rice to share. This was an excellent choice! The steak was cooked to perfection, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the rice was a great complement to the dish, bringing everything together wonderfully. Every bite was a true delight.

Not only was the food incredible, but the service was also top-notch. The staff was attentive, warm, and eager to make sure we had everything we needed, making the entire dining experience seamless and enjoyable. It’s clear that the team at El Estrebe values both quality food and customer satisfaction, which really stood out to us.

One of the best surprises was how affordable the meal was. Given the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience, we expected the bill to be much higher. But El Estrebe proved to be an excellent value, making it an even more memorable dining experience.

Overall, El Estrebe exceeded all our expectations. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy hearty, delicious food in a friendly, relaxed environment. Whether you're in Buenos Aires for a short visit or staying longer, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. We’ll definitely be returning next time...

I asked the concierge at my hotel to recommend a very good Argentinean Restaurant in the Recoleta area & without missing a beat he recommended this establishment.

As soon as I walked in, I new this was what I was looking for.

I was approached by a waitress by the name Alex, what an absolute blessing seeing that I don't speak Spanish.

She immediately took control & explained everything in detail & made the appropriate suggestions and she was spot on.

It was the best cut of meat I have had in years, tender and absolutely succulent.

I always prefer something sweet after an excellent meal & again Alex came to the rescue, suggesting the homemade apple pie & again the best I've ever had.

Alex, thank you for your attention to detail & exceptional service, a very rare gift.

If in this area, give this establishment a try you will not be disappointed.

To the management & other staff, thank you for a great experience.

Kind...

Everyone wants to experience their culinary ideal and get the ultimate sense of comfort from the service and the enveloping harmony of the place. It's definitely here!!! Having visited many places and restaurants in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay, I can definitely say that I found my restaurant!!! The restaurant owner, Luka, is involved in every aspect of the restaurant's life. A top-level professional! I sincerely recommend this restaurant to everyone and wish Luka and the entire restaurant team all the best and continued prosperity....

We received at the table a portion of bread with three dumplings and two spinach patties. As is customary in many restaurants. In hindsight it turned out that we were charged 2,000 pesos each (about US$2.50 each). *** We ordered the buttered trout dish which was delicious, plus fries which felt a little tired *** Sauteed vegetables came out tasting sour and not fresh, When some are done and some are half-done, and we returned it whitout charged*** the portion of the picania was well done even though we asked for rare.

The service was really good, and the table and setup were beautiful. We ordered three kinds of steaks; the ribeye steak was good. The other two meats were very chewy, though, and we could not finish them. The portions were big, and the service charge was 5,000 pesos per person. The total bill was about $150-$160 for 4 people. We were not too impressed with the meat. Did not take pictures of the dishes.
