Really nice elegant restaurant. Clean. Dark lighting, minimalist decor. Located in Recoleta. I had two pieces of salmon nigiri, two pieces or whitefish nigiri and two spring rolls filled with salmon. The spring rolls were nice. I had never eaten salmon in a spring roll before. They were not greasy either. The sushi was fine. I think the whitefish was not very fresh. The salmon was better. Not the best sushi I have eaten but it was nice. The pickled sushi ginger (gari) also looked like it had gone past its time. Good presentation. Daniel who served me was pleasant and friendly. Attentive. My issue, and hence why I am marking this down, is that they overcharged me on my bill which I don't think was a mistake. There were no prices on the menu which was strange. When I asked for the bill, it took a while and I could see they were having some sort of discussion over it. I had to ask twice and then I noticed that they had added on service charge for two people. I was a solo diner. I told them to remove it and I could tell from their reactions, that it was not accidental. I guess they thought as a foreigner, I would not notice. ...
Read moreHonestly the most disappointing meal. We just wanted a quick dinner before the tango ordered some sushi and gyōza. It took over an hour, we had to ask for the gyōza three times.
The sushi was pretty bland, made with rice that didn't look like sushi rice and was slightly undercooked. There was no ginger or wasbi or anything you'd expect for the price. Also nearly all the options are salmon, just incredibly poor. When the gyōza arrived they also weren't great, completely bland fillings (also salmon) and $13,000.
The service was awful, there was a team meeting after we put our order in which meant we had to wait 20 mins just for a glass of wine. There were way more staff than guests and yet still no one would come to our table. And then they had the cheek to add service to the bill, this is the only restaurant I've seen this in BA. Definitely one to miss, our worst meal of a month...
Read moreOverall, the experience was underwhelming. The nigiri omakase lacked flavor, with the rice noticeably overcooked. On a brighter note, the pork ramen stood out—it was flavorful and generously packed with meat. Unfortunately, when we ordered a pisco sour, the restaurant didn’t have any pisco in stock, which was disappointing, especially for a Nikkei establishment.
The service staff were friendly, but the overall execution felt chaotic and disorganized. The lighting inside the restaurant is quite dim, making it hard to fully appreciate the presentation of the dishes. We were also surprised to see a 4,800 pesos service charge added to the bill.
In total, we spent around $53 USD for just two dishes and a Coke—definitely on the expensive side. If you’re coming in with a big appetite, expect to pay significantly more. In the end, the visit left little...
