FRUTO CAFÉ — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

Came here to study for a couple of hours as the ambiance is nice and the place is generally empty. We asked the staff, nicely, to turn the music down as it was very loud and we were the only people there. The staff were extremely rude to us, and told us that the cafe "is not a library" (no other cafe in BA has had a problem with us studying there), so we would have to put up with the music. Later, they cut the wifi off in order to get us to leave and said that it was not profitable for them to have us stay (despite us ordering a normal amount). We ordered an item each, and were planning on ordering more if they had not kicked us out. If it were a busy cafe, I would understand, but it was empty....

This spot is definitely a hidden gem! Our airbnb was right across the street from it and we didn't even know it was a coffee shop. However, once we discovered it was, we went everyday. They made the BEST iced vanilla latte, and I don't say that lightly. Buenos Aires has absolutely amazing coffee, but I still somewhat struggled to find a good iced coffee without having to go into a Starbucks. Stracquas was amazing. Their latte was the perfect balance of vanilla, milk and espresso. The WORST cafe to work at. Rude staff that would make everything to kick you out if you work even though the cafe is empty. While being only people working at the second floor, the staff came to purposely turn up the music and when asked not to answered with:"It's not a library". Food choices are very limited and the profitability of this place with such treatment is questionable. Answer: We spent 1.5 hours and ordered a juice and a sandwich.
