Tigre Morado — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

I've been really looking forward to visiting this place because I pass by it quite often and the renovation made has really caught my eye. The decor looks great and the lighting creates a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately our night was not as much of a nice experience as we expected from that place due to poor customer service. Someone spilled a glass of red wine i just ordered all over my friend sitting next to me and when after a few minutes we asked, the waiter told us he couldnt replace it because the manager went home and he is not entitled to approve it as a waiter in charge because the stock won't be exact (?!) Very weird explanation and although getting another glass of wine is not a huge thing, the lack of positive intentions on the side of the staff and the tone didn't leave the best taste. Place has potential, personal recommendation for the managers would be to invest some time in training and empowering the staff to be able to make customer satifsaction related decisions when they are not around. At the end of the day this is a restaurant and spilling someone's drink or dropping plates is sth that's part of business that probably will be happening once in a while and can be easily...

We were very disappointed in this place, honestly. We have wanted to eat here for a long time and decided to have our friend xmas dinner here. We were told, like a lot of places that we only had 2 hours which is usually fine enough, but we weren't served for most of the time! I can't eat gluten and am vegetarian, the vegetarian menu only had fancy names for the meals with no descriptions so you had to ask for everything on that menu, then 3 of those choices I asked if they had gluten and the waiter said he would go ask and never came back, so I had to go through the process all again with another. When my meal finally came, he asked me if I was the one who asked for gluten free, and then told me my meal had gluten??? After all this waiting with no service, then questions never answered, then having to order again, we had to rush our dinner and they waiters were so rude at the end telling us to "pass down" all the cutlery.. then returned for "pass down ask the cups" and we were asked to leave for the next group waiting. Completely ruined our night. We had to find somewhere else...

I'm not sure if we went in on a bad day or what. My wife and I went because of all the great reviews and we were completely disappointed. This place is terrible. Full stop. Beginning to end. The service is non-existent and when they do come - the attitude is they give you is a little too much. We ordered a couple of ceviches, some empanadas and a couple of other things just to nibble on and have a drink. The fish was old. OLD. It tasted terrible. I don't know if it was left over from the day before, but all of them were barely edible. The empanadas were on par with the cheapest empanada chain restaurants here. The only thing that I enjoyed was the limonada. That was good. We left 90% of the food uneaten. Trying to pay and get out of a restaurant shouldn't take 45 minutes. We just wanted to go to a good restaurant - we were still hungry. We'll never go back. Tip: smell the ceviche when they deliver it to you. If it REALLY smells string - send it back, it'll only taste worse...
