The best pizza you will eat in Buenos Aires. Gordo Chanta is THE hidden gym in Villa Crespo and you have to check it out. What an experience, no wonder this place is packed every time I walk past it. The pizza is very unique but easily one of the best I've eaten in my life. The flavours work together in harmony, the dough is crunchy, perfectly cooked in their stone oven and very light! We enjoyed every single bite on the plate. The appetizer of fish of the day in a ceviche form on a crispy taco with some hot oil is the definition of happiness.

We ordered the pepperoni with stracciatella, the waiter warned us that they ran out of pepperoni but had a replacement which was also delicious. The second pizza was the special of the week, a white sauce of herbs and basil for the base, asparagus and other herbs as toppings made for a unique and very refreshing pizza. This was easily top 3 pizza's ever in my life. The whole experience was so great, we had a lovely time here and the ambiance was warm, trendy and we felt welcome.

The service was very good, English speakers were sent to our table, they're tentative, quick and very professional. We loved the vibe of the restaurant as well with a lot of great music. I loved the whole experience a lot. The food is tremendous. I'm putting this at the end to keep some secrecy but there's also a secret little bar in their basement where u can have a drink before or after getting a pizza...

I’m a big fan of Argentina pizza (very different from Italy’s) but was curious to try Gordo a chanta as it claims to be Neapolitan in style. It did not disappoint as it’s probably one of the best I’ve had outside of Napoli. The crust is thin and with the right amount of alveolation in the cornicione. Toppings are a bit less traditional, but no less delicious. I ordered the figs, tomato sauce, stracciatela, basil and hot honey pizza and it was fantastic, even if the hot sauce was less hot than expected (not unusual in Argentine cuisine). For dessert, I had the red berries soft serve with garrapiñadas and caramel drizzle, which was a great palate cleanser to cap the night off. Had a salmoncito to drink (grapefruit juice, gin, tonic water and Campari) which was refreshing on a hot night, but could have been a tad more flavorful. Overall a great choice, particularly with it being a more authentically Neapolitan pizza option in a town where that’s an unusual offering. If on your own or a small group (2 or 3) I’d recommended sitting at the bar to witness the guys knee landing what feels like hundreds of pizza pies every night in front...
