Nothing less than amazing! So what I hope to maybe clarify with my exuberant enthusiasm after having been here five times in 2 weeks (yep that's what it says 5x in 2w) With all the manifold choices here in Palermo! ...que? And I think I have an answer,. Many years ago a Greek freind (now passed but nonetheless a natural in the business) said: 'judge a restaurant by [I]it's parking lot. Que!!!?? Yep ....except there's no parking lot perse (as Harry Styles says 'just leave it at that'...but there's always a waiting list).. But doesn't matter to me much (solo traveller) I just sit at bar. Good luck with that....this place so d*mn good even the bar's mobbed. Ok. Ok. Rambling here. But these people got the 'experience,' down A to Z. Impeccable uniforms. Friendly service (above and beyond kinda stuff) But the presentation & preparation are simply over-the-top! I've done all the 'entradas'; ceaser salad (2X -- cursed are those who don't use/make real dressing) enjoyed OMG 'take your breath away' preparations off the 'parilla,...". It's basically second heaven kinda stuff we talkin' here! I try to contain myself (when possible) with my reviews; however', as I have so stated before: nothing gives me greater joy to find, and subsequently review, an amazing establishment. When I finally leave-- I will have the fondest of memories of Kansas...
Read moreIll just say that the 2 stars is just because our server was nice. I think her name was Gabriella. Oh and the bartender. The drinks were good. Espresso martini not the best I had but ok. Pisco sour was fine but really weird presentation. Maracuroska was really good. They put us on list at 10.30pm and we were able to sit 11.45pm. We attended for my cousins birthday. The hostess had an awful attitude the whole time. She said the waitlist was 30-40min maximum. We had to go to her a lot of times and even though never received the "sms". We ordered a spinach dip wich for the price was super overpriced and then ordered some pasta with alfredo sauce (not in a million years THAT was alfredo sauce) and different flatbreads plus drinks. I ordered the flatbread with shrimps, dates and goat cheese. If i say it had 6 shrimps it would had been a lot. Never seen any goat cheese as ORANGE as this to do not call it CHEDDAR. Not even a single date on ANY portion. NONE. Not coming back, a very pretentious place for what theyre really made of. Thought that the Buenos Aires one would be better that the one on Lincoln road but its the...
Read moreThe American steak-house experience in Buenos Aires. Too much close to the real experience for my own taste, the restaurant has few reservations available for early 7pm dinning, it is first come, first serve basis after that time, so we had to wait for 55min for our table, there was about 70+ people waiting for a table in a very loud lobby with everyone talking and yelling while they waited, we patiently waited outside to avoid the noise, but only to find ourselves surrounded by disgusting smokers, then escaped to the bar to drink something in the meantime, very nice drinks, finally it was our turn to get seated after being standing for about an hour, we got seated in front of the bar and just next to the stairs that led to the lobby, we had all the chat from the bar, and people from the wait area standing next to our table, it was so noisy that my wife and I had to literally scream each other to discuss the menu, at this point we were really uncomfortable, but hungry!
We decided to go with the grilled Salmon and the Rib-eye Steak, with a side a coleslaw salad, the food was excellent and delicious, the Salmon was seared on the outside and juicy on the inside, the Rib-eye medium rare point was perfectly executed, the side of fries was abundant and very crunchy, the coleslaw was probably the best one I have tried in Buenos Aires, we couldn't try the desserts because we were full thanks to the abundant fries, no regrets.
I just want to make a call out to the excellent staff service and our waiter, really good service, but sadly the whole experience was like fine dinning in the middle of a town fair, the Kansas located in Nordelta does not have this issue.
