Nomade Polo — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

Service was slow, no attention, staff were bar hugging rather walking round the restaurant. It wasn’t even busy but it was half an hour before we finally had to call someone over to get a drink. When it arrived the Aperol Spritz was flat and the daiquiri made with fruit syrup rather than fresh fruit. The waitress didn’t put my order through, so I never got my mains. I shared my partners pizza which was a dry, pre-made bought in base. It was a birthday celebration which I noted at time of booking, but no mention was ever made of it at the restaurant. Mind you since we didn’t stay for dessert as the service was so poor maybe we missed it. There was no fire show even though we made a point of messaging to ask if it would be on a Wednesday night, we were told it’s every night - it’s only weekends! The setting is nice but it’s open air and no cooling, though eventually some fans did arrive half way through. All in all not really worth the hype or making a special...

Nomade is one of them restaurants that transmit such passion in each of their dishes. As well as in the service they provide to its clients. And, of course, their cocktails.

My particular favourite was cold in the shadows. And as for food the salmon mi-cuit was exquisite.

However, as for everything in the hospitality industry, what really stands out is the service provided by the staff. I went to Nomade with my boyfriend, and got served by Luis, he was warm and very friendly. He made us feel welcomed the moment we stepped in and was very attentive throughout the night, even made small talk about Buenos Aires and gave us recommendations on places to visit. 5/5 would definitely visit again next time I’m in Argentina. Luis, if you’re reading this we hope to see...

Fui al restaurante con un grupo de 14 personas para celebrar el año nuevo. El lugar estaba muy bonito, con una decoración elegante y una buena iluminación. El camarero que nos atendió era muy atento y amable, pero se notaba que estaba un poco perdido. Cuando le preguntamos por el punto de la carne, no supo decirnos si podíamos elegirlo o no.

No me gustaron mucho los platos que sirvieron, al menos la mitad de la mesa no quedó satisfecha. En una comunidad tan diversa como la de Buenos Aires, sería importante ofrecer más opciones, sobre todo cuando se elige un menú con un sabor tan específico

Otro aspecto negativo fue la organización del evento. Había adornos de luz y accesorios para celebrar el cambio de año, pero nuestra mesa no recibió nada hasta 10 minutos antes de la medianoche. Y lo que nos dieron era muy escaso: una sola bolsa con pocas cosas para 14 personas. Mientras tanto, otras mesas tenían de sobra, como una que vi con 20 personas y al menos 12 bastones de luz (nosotros recibimos 3 solamente). Me pareció muy injusto y desigual.

Para terminar, cuando nos trajeron la cuenta, nos cobraron por las bebidas, pero no nos dieron ningún detalle de todo que habíamos consumido en la noche. Solo nos dijeron el monto total, sin ninguna explicación. Yo estaba tan cansado y con ganas de irme, que pagué sin reclamar, pero me quedé con la sensación de que me habían estafado.

En resumen, no fue una buena experiencia. El lugar tiene potencial, pero le falta mejorar mucho en la comida, la organización, y la atención al cliente. No creo que vuelva a ir, ni que lo recomiende a nadie. Le sugiero al restaurante que escuche las opiniones de sus clientes y que haga los cambios necesarios para ofrecer un servicio de calidad y...
