La Vaca Empoderada is an amazing vegan restaurant in Puerto Iguazu that truly stands out for its delicious dishes and exceptional service. The menu features a great variety of thoughtfully prepared vegan options from flavorful vegetable fritters, empanadas, and nuggets to exquisite main dishes like the chickpea Milanesa with mashed potatoes and seitan Milanesa with ratatouille. The handmade pastas with fresh sauces add a wonderful artisanal touch to the dining experience. In my first night, I got the ravioli with cassava fries and my husband got the burger with a fresh coconut (water and flesh inside). We enjoyed a very large glass of Malbec too. We confirmed that the wine was vegan. On my second night, we got the onion rings, seitan with ratatouille, and spaghetti with bolognese. All of it was amazing, and freshly prepared - even the pasta noodles.
What truly makes this place special is the warm and attentive service provided by the staff, creating a welcoming atmosphere that complements the food perfectly. It is clear they put a lot of love and care into both the cooking and customer care. This combination makes La Vaca Empoderada a gem for both locals and tourists visiting Iguazu Falls.
It is hoped that this restaurant remains a beloved staple in the community for many years to come, continuing to delight visitors and residents alike with its vegan delights and heartfelt hospitality. A true must-visit spot for anyone in the Iguazu area!

Read moreThe reviews of this place are either sponsored, misleading, or I was terribly unlucky. I ordered onion rings and garbanzo (chickpea) milenesa. The onion rings were thick and the crust so thin that it was virtually tasteless. The milenesa was worse - completely tasteless. All I could taste was the intense flavour of...salt. Lots and lots of it. The crust does not have any flavour, nor does the garbanzo. I tried to temper the saltiness with the tasteless mash potato that was provided as a side, but to no avail. I tried my best to finish half of the main course, then left. You (and they) really should check out the Michelin Guide Chui restaurant in Buenos Aires to see how vege / vegan food should be cooked. The worst part - I paid nearly the same price in this restaurant as I did in Chui....
Read moreLovely food, drinks & staff! I visited twice, one for empanadas (very happy to try a vegan one whilst in Argentina!), once for cocktails and an escalope. Everything was delicious and freshly cooked- the mash in particular was amazing! The staff were really lovely. Reasonable prices too. Definitely stop whilst in puerto igazu, especially if vegan because there's very limited...
