While this is a nice restaurant overall, I simply do not trust that it is suitable for celiacs. I went here on two separate occasions, and had definitive symptoms of gluten cross contamination both times. After the first time when I felt bad after eating here, I wanted to give it a second chance, and inquired again about the specific measures in place for celiacs. They explained everything is prepared separately and I felt safe enough, but something must be going wrong in their processes because yet again I felt very bad after eating here. The food was still tasty and the service nice, but I would not recommend any celiac to eat here. I hope the restaurant reviews their protocols for their gluten free products and the ingredients to make sure it's really safe.
Edit to the owner's comment: It is a shame that you do not take my comment seriously. I have not eaten at any other restaurant in Bariloche (because I am aware they are not safe for celiacs), which is why the contamination can only come from your place. I would recommend that you take comments from guests seriously, that your staff gets some more training on the topic and that you review your processes to ensure safe food for celiacs. Even with separate kitchens there might be contamination on the way from the kitchen to my table, e.g. from unwashed hands touching something I put in my mouth. Both times I came, I had to actively ask the waiters to clean the table of crumbs from previous guests, just as an example. Neither does the comment make sense that you are celiac "to a high degree". There are no different "grades" or "degrees" for celiac disease, either you...
Read moreThe size of the expectation is the size of the disappointment. I often eat at vegetarian restaurants and I saw that the restaurant received a high rating. I ordered soup of the day which was quite simple and without seasoning and then a vegetarian hamburger which looked good but the patty was dry and tasteless and the bun was hard and inedible. The only thing that was reasonable was the vegetables. I told the waitress that the dish was not to my taste and she pointed out to me that nothing could be changed. After that, the owner of the restaurant approached me and started arguing with me in the middle of the restaurant about the fact that it was impossible for the hamburger to be dry and I was wrong. Really embarrassing. I told her again that the hamburger was dry without seasoning and flavor but the dish was not changed because that is the policy. . If you are looking for a restaurant for dishes that looks good in pictures, this is the place for you. But if you are looking for delicious food and of course normal service you should...
Read moreRev 2: In reply to the owner. You can't take any form of criticism. I've looked back at previous low reviews and it doesn't paint a picture of someone willing to listen. I've reviewed hundreds of places and I'd say about 5% get 2 stars. I don't like giving low reviews but if the food isn't worth the price, and you leave disappointed, then 2 stars is what you'll get. You either want to listen to customers or don't. I'm not bothered either way, I won't be returning as there is far better food to be had in Bariloche.
We ate here 2 and overall the food is very underwhelming, especially for the price. The staff are very friendly and attentive but they are the high point for the place. We tried, pitas, salads and the soup. All in all just ok. The food looks nice but lacks favour with the exception of the soup which I would recommend. The biggest issue is the price, it just doesn't represent anything close to value. I've been in Argentina for a little while now and this is hands down the most overpriced place...
