We spent a week in Armenia, dining in a dozen places of all shapes and colors, but this one's my favorite hands down.
Everything about it shows a great deal of taste and care, from the interior design to the soft and unusual ambient music. The food looks fantastic and tastes even better. There's a good selection for everyone, and the prices are on the low end even by Armenian standards. We actually came back later for coffee and cookies and these were spectacular as well.
The location is as central as could be, but the window front faces a pond rather than all the busy streets, and there is lots of natural light even though we passed Dilijan on a rainy day.
They have board games for kids and adults alike and a surprisingly decent e-piano in one corner. The guests of all ages fit the atmosphere, everyone is friendly and laid-back. Basically you immediately feel at home. I even played a few pieces on the piano; elsewhere I'm typically not comfortable even asking.
In the entry hall there's a little souvenir corner. Again, I rarely buy anything elsewhere but here they actually had something tasteful, handmade by the locals and obscenely affordable.
Note that during daytime they further help the locals by employing young apprentices, so alcoholic beverages, including beer, are only...
Read moreWe chose this place because of the seating over the water. As far as I can tell, there were only three small tables where you could sit over the small pond and we were lucky enough to get one of them. Each can only accommodate two people. The service was very friendly and all of the staff seemed very nice. We each ordered a pasta which was fine. The summer salad was also fine. We had had a summer salad at a Georgian restaurant the day before that was so amazing that it was hard to compete. We each ordered a pot of tea to have with a slice of honey cake. The honey cake was good. Honestly, if we had just stumbled upon this place, I probably would be giving it five stars… I think my expectations were a little too high. So, I say, if you’re in the area, you should...
Read moreGood looking place with great music and peaceful atmosphere. Designed place with handmade furniture and drawings. Wide menu: breakfast, vegetarian dishes, local cuisine, pasta, pizza, salads and lots more. You can drink alcohol drinks after 7pm daily or after 12am on the weekend. Alcohol is very expensive - at least the most expensive which we tried - they counted cognac as BRANDY for 3500dr!!! We tried the food for two days and were disappointed. Not so tasty What’s makes the place more fantastic as it’s social initiative and all the income goes to the foundation for developing education and initiatives in the village Please increase the quality of taste of food and don’t cheat tourists who wants...
