It was a minor side dish, but as a prosciutto lover I was in heaven. it worked so well with the sourdough focaccia. Would highly recommend this as an entree! ๐Ÿ‘โ€‹ โŒโ€‹ My least favourites were the oysters and the lack of toppings on the mushroom pizza. The oysters were large (great), but had the unpleasant saltiness that threw my friends off who weren't used to eating oysters. It certainly wasn't one of the best/freshest oysters I've had either. ๐Ÿ˜“ Although the leopard spotting is fantastic on all pizzas ๐Ÿ”ฅ, the toppings on the mushroom pizza left more to be desired. Pictures included, but you can tell it's not quite an even smattering so you get uneven pieces. Would like to see more mushroom pieces/more even distribution on a pizza. ๐Ÿ˜คโ€‹ Service was friendly and were great at keeping an eye on the water levels. The atmosphere was also quite loud. The jovial atmosphere and the people that I was with... I've never laughed so hard in my life. ๐ŸŽ‡โ€‹โ€‹ Even though we had an odd number of people, they were generous at allowing us choose an extra pizza as part of the set menu! Great place to celebrate a birthday, and the chefs do a great job at plating the supplied cake. There is a cakeage fee of $3.00pp. ๐Ÿฐ

Covid times: only doing outdoor dining and takeaway food - we can still eat out safely ๐Ÿ™‚. Dinner at @anchovybanditbar - been meaning to come here for ages, and we are very glad we made it! The food was amazing, and the service was great too. . Blue Swimmer Crab: crรจme fraรฎche, roe, toast. Wow this snack dish was delicious! The roast was soooooo good ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค, and worked so well with the crab! . Spencer Gulf Prawn Sando: garlic, chilli butter. The chilli butter sauce was quite spicy, and gave this dish a really nice kick! Yummy ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹. . Grilled nectarines: wow I really loved this dish! The nectarines were very sweet, with just a tiny bit of tartness. Yummy ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿคค. . Scallops and cucumber: this dish has an amazing presentation. The scallops were sliced and placed in between slices of cucumber. Very fresh flavours! . Casarecce: pork sausage, kimchi, chinese broccoli. I didn't know what to expect for this dish, but we wanted to try it anyway, and we are certainly glad we did! The kimchi wasn't overpowering in any way, and just added nice bold flavours. . Woodfired Cabbage: mushroom xo, parmigiano. Loved this cabbage! So smokey and full of yummy flavours ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹. Can't believe they can make cabbage taste so good ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…. . Yoghurt sorbet: caramelised white choc, cherries, basil, crostoli. Very nice flavours for this dessert dish. Great combination of ingredients that all worked really well together. Can't complain at all!

I'm a little disappointed in a couple of things. When we arrived we asked for a seat with a bit more back support, standing there, there were 2 booths (that we could see) available. The guy said there was nothing available at that time and he'd arrange for a seat with better back support. Unfortunately it never came and the booths with back support remained empty. To the food.. we ordered a wagyu steak sando for starters and boy was that underwhelming. $26 for that was just sad.. The taste was just strong punches of flavour and did not go together. The lemon lime bitters didn't help it go down well either - imagine lime cordial, half a glass of lemon juice out of the bottle and a bit of bitters. It was not refreshing, just straight sour. Onto a better take. The margherite pizza came out relatively quickly and tasted alright. The flavours were all there, it was just that the pizza base was quite soggy when trying to eat it. The toppings came off, but it was still nice to eat. The ragu pasta was delicious. The meat was so tender and flavours were amazing - hands down the best thing about the dinner. I would not rush back to eat here again, except for that pasta.

Disappointing. I wrote a personal email to this business as i wanted to give them a chance to explain their poor service but they couldn't even respond to my email .

In a nutshell 9 booked NYE ..this was for the third time .$100 a head ! Arrived at 8.05pm , drink dropped on one of the guests. 1 guest didn't eat seafood, was given tomato and lettuce on ice as replacement dish , the rest of us had oysters etc.!! Main course didn't arrive until after 11pm. I asked the manager why this was the case. well this is when the fun started. Accused us of arriving at 8.35pm-wrong it was 8.05pm Accused us of being drunk - Wrong, we had 1 drink before arriving. They assumed we were drunk because we had NYE celebration glasses on!! . Our alcohol bill for 9 people was $247 , hardly excessive for us . The group consisted of a 75year old , 5 in their 60s and 3 in their 50s. We were told to drink water before they served us any more alcohol and yet she still couldn't say why they hadn't served our main course 3 hours after arriving. It gets better, friends of ours were also there on another table and they were told that we gave the water away to other guests so we could get served alcohol . Just blatant lies, poor service and poor food which is shame as we always support local , but never at this place again. Plenty of good eateries on prospect road to visit, sadly this one has lost us . A simple reply to my email would have avoided a public response from me on behalf...

Fantastic Function Venue

We recently held a privet function at Anchovy Bandit for my partners 40th Birthday and the result completely blew our expectation out of the water!

As we live in the Prospect area we visit Anchovy Bandit and the team on a fairly regular basis dropping in for a drink or some food, so our expectation was already quite high when we approached them on holding a function for 60 people. Our only concern in the while process was if we would have enough space, it ended up being on a beautiful day so having people on the outdoor tables meant that we didnโ€™t even use the two end booths for most of the day.

The whole experience was flawless from the flexibility/options with food & drinks packages to suit what we wanted, Alex and the team did a fantastic job, the organizing of the food, the drinks and cocktail list, all choices we left completely up to them and they nailed it.

The only thing we organized was the invitations and a cake, no prep work, we got to relaxing and enjoying our guests on the day with no clean up afterwardsโ€ฆ

It was a dream and defiantly took the hard work out of everything, during the function the team took such great care of us and our friends and family. Even to the point that the following weeks we had people contacting us to let us know what a great party it was and what a great venue, food, drinks and staff that Anchovy Bandit have.
