We had heard good things about Rosemont Hall from our friends and decided to give it a try. However, our experience was mixed. When entering, you're greeted by the sheer size of the venue and the warmth that radiates throughout. The restaurant has a unique mix of rustic and Asian decor. **8/10** - The Kingfish sashimi was amazing. It tasted very fresh, and we wished we had ordered more. The sauce was a great addition, with Thai herbs and coconut cream pairing well with the fish. **7/10** - The Steamed Prawn dumplings were above average but nothing to write home about. It felt like there was a prawn piece surrounded by prawn mince, which had an unusual texture. The red curry sauce was amazing, and honestly, the highlight of the dish. **4/10** - The Massaman Beef was chewy and a bit tough, although a few pieces at the bottom were softer. The curry had an average flavour. My partner loves Massaman, and it's hard to disappoint her, but unfortunately, this was one of the places she didn't enjoy. **6/10** - The Mongolian Lamb had above-average flavour but was very basic. It had a strong dark soy sauce flavour which felt a bit overpowering, but the meat was soft. **5/10** - The Garlic Butter Prawns had a very mellow flavour, nothing stood out as amazing with this dish but there was a good amount of prawns. **4/10** - The Green Papaya Salad was missing a lot of flavour and had barely any fish sauce or dressing other than a bit of lime. Not even close to what a Papaya salad is considered The cocktails were below average and not worth mentioning. The service was lacking as we didn't receive our Papaya salad and drinks until we mentioned it to the waiter. Perhaps there was miscommunication between staff. Either way, we were halfway in our main till we received everything. Unfortunately, photos of all dishes were not taken as they had arrived when we had already started eating. It might’ve been an off day for the venue after we've heard such good things about them, but unfortunately this experience has led me feeling disappointed.

The atmosphere and food here was great. It’s a little pricier than your standard Asian food restaurant but it was definitely yum, even the cheeseburger spring rolls! Yep that’s right, total cheeseburger flavour inside a spring roll - I can’t say I’d have these all the time but the novelty of them was fun. Our service was fabulous throughout our whole meal, until the end where it was a little clunky. We didn’t quite realise that our table had another booking 2 hours after our booking. We hadn’t been watching the time and were delivered a dessert menu but no one came back for the order, we suddenly had another waitress arrive to warn us that we had to be out by 8pm as our table was booked, looking at our watches we realised it was 7.55 so got up and left. During the wait for our dessert lady to return we also had a plate of fortune cookies delivered to the table, nice touch! Upon all helping ourselves we realised the bill had be placed under them but not mentioned to us, I’m thinking that was supposed to be the first hint. Overall we really enjoyed our dinner just wish the waitress had perhaps kept us informed about time frames and how long we had to leave. I’d definitely still go back

Rosemont Hall is a beautiful restaurant. Some kinda town hall from the early days of Australia now turned into a Chinese restaurant lol The irony. Naturally every trendy westerner in the area with enough money to eat here has flocked to it and it was busy afffff! NOTE: Prepare yourself an additional 20 minutes to find a carpark. EVERYTHING was super expensive. By example $30 for an entree sized serving of honey chicken which was pretty much standard honey chicken. Service was ok... But hard to be super friendly when you're getting smashed with a perpetul full house. Eyyy - CUT - IT - OOOUUT! In closing... Dress fancy, fuel up your car before heading here so you dont run out of petrol finding a park, bring heaps of money to pay and stop off somewhere else afterwards to settle your hunger. I'm being cynical... It was... Yeah... A really beautiful building. Though not as beautiful as my girlfriend who I had the pleasure of attending with ❤️

Well. What can I say? Simply that this might be one of the funkiest and perfectly eclectic restaurants I've been, possibly ever. The fitout is stylish, modern and people-centric while maintaining the history and charm that Rosemont Hall was built to exude. The only thing better than the look of this place was the good and service. Every dish that came out was hot, fresh, tasty and accessible. This is a team who can keep the offering modern and unique without having to resort to the strange and unrequited (no stuffed turnip hearts in a tofu and quince jelly here). Tonight I ate exclusively off the Mr Chan menu (Chinese); chicken wings, shallot pancakes, Kung pow chicken, sweet and sour pork and fried coconut icecream - and there was nothing I could fault. A lot of places could learn from how they work here. Then there was the service. Everything clearly explained but never condescending. The one little slip up that happened was owned and rectified instantly (a couple of drinks missed). In this day and age, how many of you actually hear "I'm so sorry, that was my fault" when something goes wrong. ONCE - Tonight!! Cheerful, friendly, consistent, knowledgeable and so much more. Here is a team who all share the same passion. And one easy to share on a place like this. Overall, this is how food and culture and service is meant to be offered. If you get the opportunity, you know...

My wife myself and a friend had a 6.30 reserved table at this establishment last evening 16/12/2024. We asked if we could change our table as it was located in a spot with a lot of foot traffic and noise. This was agreed on by the manager. We were placed along the wall in a much better position. We duly ordered our drinks and probably 5 minutes later the waitress took our food orders. The food and service was spot on - if not a little rushed. However, no quicker than finishing our meal, and having told we do not wish to have dessert or another drink, plates were removed and we were presented with the bill by the young lady waitress clutching her EFTPOS gadget hurrying us up to pay and leave. We settled the account but then were asked to leave the table as they had other customers waiting...this happened at 7.15 we were shunted out to another area next door to continue our conversation...I asked to speak to the manager regarding this action and he said it was because we asked for a different table. I asked why he didn't inform us that there was a time limit on the new table location, but he was unable to explain. This in my opinion was a shocking act of protocol. Our bill for our drinks and food came to just under $200 not a small amount by any means. For 45 minutes..I have no complaint with the food or service, just the way we were rushed to leave...
