BirdYakitori Bar — Restaurant in Adelaide

Dinner at the recently opened @birdyakitori01: it was not the best dining experience overall unfortunately - some hits but lots of misses (see below for details). Hopefully things will improve with time. . The food: Grilled dishes were definitely the highlights: it's what they're supposed to be known for. The grilled squid was excellent, as with the chicken thigh, and the chicken meatballs. The grilled unagi was also super yummy 🤤. Sushi rolls: not so yummy unfortunately Sashimi: good but expensive for not many pieces of fish . The drinks: The cocktails were very tasty and creative, and they also look amazing. But they took a very long time to be served. One of the drinks didn't get served until at least 30-40min into the meal (all ordered at the beginning). . The service: Overall needs more work Even though we had booked a table for 7:30pm, they didn't seat us until almost 8pm. One of the servers said that they will give us complementary drinks due to the delay. However, at the end of the meal, they said that they'd only give us complementary house sake (after we had already ordered cocktails). I think they need a bit of work to do in terms of the consistency of the service, which will come with...

We had dinner at BirdYakitori Bar on King William Road (Unley) tonight. It was our first time — and honestly, it will also be our last.

The restaurant has a lovely, intimate atmosphere with modern Japanese decor. Ordering is done via QR code, which is quick and convenient, though it does make the experience feel a bit transactional.

We ordered some entree, yakitori, sushi, rice, and dessert. Food extremely small, especially for the price. We ordered a squid skewer, and my kids and I only got a tiny piece each — thanks to my wife, who happily finished the rest! The sushi was average, nothing memorable, and definitely not worth the premium cost.

The dessert was the highlight of the meal as per my kids. But overall, we were still hungry at the end and had to go to another restaurant afterward to feel full, except my wife.

Service was polite and food arrived promptly, but the overall value just wasn’t there. Nice setting, good dessert, but small portions and high prices made this a one-time...

We stopped in last minute late one evening, lucky seating was available. It is so Aesthetically pleasing! Takes you to the romantic blossoms in Japan, like entering the practice of hanami, the gathering under the blooming cherry trees to appreciate their beauty, eat, and drink, celebrating the arrival of spring.

Bird Yakitori is cozy, the little dining area but the flavors are big!

Every bite was just amazingly simple, fresh and tasty.

Staff are attentive and quick friendly service. QR code ordering is preferred but staff are happy to take orders too and answer any questions too. Final Bill is paid at the table with card/eftpos.
