A very sad dining experience. First of all, the overall decoration. The decoration of the restaurant is very exquisite, but when I was dining, bugs always flew to my cup, knife and fork. I didn’t have the energy to keep chasing them away and was confused as to where they were coming from.

The overall music selection is also a bit strange and doesn't quite fit the overall atmosphere. But this is a minor issue, I just mentioned it in passing.

What saddens me the most is the food. The snail barely passed. The shrimp is very bland in the mouth, and after swallowing it will have a salty taste. I don't know what it is that is worth the more than 40 dollars for this dish. The foie gras was so salty that it made me question my life. I couldn't even control my expression when I ate it. The overall condition of the soufflé is good, but the taste is also very average. The slightly sour fruity aroma quickly turns into a strong sweetness after entering the mouth. Do customers really not need insulin after eating it? The recommended red wine was also boring. What saddened me even more was the waiter's indifference when I expressed my dissatisfaction with the food.

What saddens me the most is that I am just a tourist and I have only been in Adelaide for a few days. I picked a highly rated restaurant within a limited time and got such a bad experience, which even affected my...

As the name suggests, this is not a fancy restaurant. It delivers very well prepared food at reasonable prices. The dishes are classic, solid, old school French, but the lack of any specials meant we were left with a list of somewhat uninspiring choices. Having said that, except for the cheese souffle, which was bland and dry and without the promised sauce, the dishes that came out were all delicious. The wines, too, were excellent.

For us, the service was the big problem. Some of it was switched on, but big points off for not ensuring everyone's first drinks came out around the same time, and for making us search for someone who could advise us on the wine. We also had to follow up on an undelivered main (which then came out promptly) and to almost beg them to take our coffee order when it was clear they just wanted to turn off the machine even when they still had several tables of customers. Also, it's not a good look to have your staff slouching around on their breaks at tables right next to your...

Had a really great experience for dinner, came for a birthday dinner and the 2 ladies that were serving us were excellent. We had a person with some dietary restrictions and they made very attempt to make that a non issue, we had the chefs course with many starters and mains. Everything was delicious. Absolutely above and beyond to the point where there was not dairy free option for dessert, and they tried to figure out an option and one of the chefs went to their other restaurant and made a dessert there, with cookies, gluten and dairy free with compote and strawberries. The dinner had eggs, steak , duck, salmon, salad , ratatouille, soufflé, soooo much food and again everything was very good.

Thank you to the chefs and the servers that helped us out, only 1 thing went a little wrong had to wait 30 minutes for a beer......oh well they did everything else great. If I had the names of the ladies that helped us I would name them in this review.

Bravo

Thanks for a great experience...

I wanted this to be excellent but it was most disappointing. The food is authentic, typically French bistro and perfect portion sizes. Special mention for the chicken liver parfait (yum) and the chicken and leek main course. Steak frites is typically okay. The core issues here is the service or lack there of. Almost impossible to spend money as you waive down service for a starting champagne to be ignored and then sit with a meal waiting for the wine. The owner is most disinterested in serving and taking care of customers, quite bizarre if one wants to have return customers. The ambience is stale and could be warmed up with some decoration inside the restaurant and music playing during meal periods. We have dined here twice and unfortunately will not be back despite the good food.

First time at Bistro Francais recently and I was extremely impressed! I’ve always found French restaurants either very good or very ‘meh’. I was so happy with every dish, especially the French onion soup! It’s a cozy little spot in the heart of Kong William road (parking can be challenging sometimes but you can normally snag one along one of the back streets rather than try to park on the street. My partner and I went for a birthday dinner, I was able to BYO a bottle of beautiful French wine after pre arranging it at the time of my booking. The wine list does have standouts but I wanted something a little extra special for the night. Overall 5 stars. The food was pretty much exactly like I have had in Paris and around France before which after all is the greatest compliment of all.
