OWNERS AND STAFF PLEASE READ!
Usually we are not the type of people to write a bad review but after our experience today this needs to be shared and a lot can be learned!
The reason for the review as I am sure you can remember, is there was an accident that should not have taken place and definitely could have been avoided with our 8 month old daughter.
One of the staff members was serving our brunch that we were looking forward to until she decided to serve it directly over our daughters head and unfortunately for us the hollandaise sauce had fallen off hitting our daughter directly on the head and spilling all across her face and body.
Thankfully in this case the hollandaise was not hot, but this could have been much worse leading to our daughter being rushed to hospital potentially blinding and scaring her face/body for life.
We are so thankful that our daughter is fine but as parents we left the place distraught and in shock that this had even taken place.
The staff were accommodating with the situation and offering to cover everything free of charge but after what had take place we could not enjoy or think of eating food at that time.
We understand accidents happen but hope this could be a lesson to learn from and encourage the owners to have their staff seek proper training to avoid this from ever happening again!
Us as parents have definitely learned from this experience and will be more aware when being served anything in a public setting from now on and hope other parents can take something away from...

At no stage were we asked to move to a table for two or the extra table moved to make a bigger table elsewhere. After finally having our order taken and received, the restaurant was full, a staff member came over and asked us to move tables. I said no we are halfway through our meals. The staff member continued to stand and ask us to move because they had a table of 5 walk in. By this stage we had gained the attention of nearby diners. Rather than make a further scene I asked for a container for the rest my friends meal and that we would pay and leave. While putting on my jacket at the table another staff member came over and said that we didn’t have to leave, gaining further unwanted attention from diners nearby and I’m sure disrupting their brunch as well. At the register while paying another staff member admonished me saying “I really don’t think you need to leave” . She seemed angry, and she made no attempt to appease the situation. Not engaging with that comment, I paid and left. It was a very uncomfortable situation for my friend and I. And to be “told off” for leaving when feeling that way really made the whole experience unbearable. This restaurant has now gone from one our family would visit often, and that we would recommend to others to neither.

Read moreHaving heard such great things about "the best gnocchi joint in SA", the anticipation levels of our Saturday night dinner were rather high upon entering this establishment. Unfortunately, these expectations dropped as soon as we walked in and saw the filthy cushions we'd be sitting on for the next 2 hours, and things only got worse from there.
For appetisers, we thought we'd try the polenta fries, given we were all quite hungry. For $18, we were looking forward to a nice bowl of salty snacks to chew whilst catching up on the week's events with each other. It turned out to be quite lucky that we'd all had quite dull weeks, as the SIX chips were eaten in the time it takes to order a bottle of water.
Speaking of- you would think that a simple endeavour such as ordering some water for the table is not something that a restaurant could mess up, but alas the 'Neighbours' (wait staff) were clearly being paid commissions for extra drinks sold, as we were brought $17 worth of bottled still water, when our party of 4 had asked for tap water.
Despite thinking this was a lot of liquid, I was quickly proven wrong when my main meal arrived and I saw the OCEAN of oil that my chicken and spaghetti was SWIMMING IN. With this in mind, I was actually both scared and bewildered at how the food still somehow tasted dry.
Overall, none of us will ever return to this restaurant and will next time aim to have a higher quality and better value dinner by visiting...
