Bombay Vintage — Restaurant in Adelaide

One of the worst experiences, in terms of taste and behavior of the chef . Owner and the serving staff were humble and polite . It was my wife's birthday and we were looking to celebrate her special day at a restaurant near the city as we were coming from our work and next day was also working. We ordered onion Bhaji which was bit hard and bland taste , paneer pakodas were soft and chutney was good but again had some bland or missing taste . Now coming on the the main course we ordered paneer butter masala, and garlic naan . This was worst kind of any Indian gravy I ever had (despite having a recent bad experience at another Indian restaurant near paradise ) .It was full of oil , hardly had any taste and when we wanted to share our experience,the owner was kind enough to replace the dish ,but we already had started eating and no intention to get it changed as we literally got an idea that next thing which would be coming is more or less the same .After finishing our dinner I was having a chat with the owner,and all of a sudden the chef came in and asked about what was wrong with the dish , and when I tried to explain, and he literally said this thing "if you guys ,don't want to come , do not come , I don't care" 😨 . I was literally shocked and showed my displeasure to the owner ... Instead of accepting his fault and willingness to learn ,this guy showed arrogance and attitude. We recently dined here as a group of 17 adults and 6 kids, choosing the vegetarian banquet menu — and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The banquet included 3 entrees, 3 mains, rice, a variety of breads, accompaniments, and dessert. Every dish was delicious, generously portioned, and beautifully presented.

Highlights included the soft and flavorful paneer, the perfectly balanced malai kofta (tasty without being overly sweet), and the delicious butta kebab. There was more than enough food for everyone — we all ate to our heart’s content and still had plenty left over, which the staff kindly packed for us to take home.

The kids were also well taken care of with chips and chicken nuggets, and the restaurant was more than accommodating of special dietary requests, such as plain yogurt for one child and a no-onion, no-garlic curry for an adult in our group.

The service was warm, attentive, and efficient, making the whole evening smooth and enjoyable. Everyone left happy — especially the kids, who had a blast!

If extremely crazy about spicy and authentic taste from Indian streets, this place is a must go! It made our evening very special by actually letting us revisiting the actual taste of indian cuisines. It was something I was missing in Adelaide being an Indian. The food did speak to us about India and satisfied our Indian tongues for us to revisit this place soon. The food was not only extraordinary but also the customer service was commendable. Thank you guys for making our day so special and delightful.
