Arrived early 5pm so we we’re guaranteed a seat. It got very busy soon after. I had been wanting to come to this place for a while, because I love South Indian food, but it is hard to get at most Indian restaurants in the south of Adelaide which serve mainly northern fare. It was a bit more of a drive than I am used to making for my curries, but completely worth it. The flat bread had a spice and onion filling inside and a tasty chickpea curry with salty sour spicy pickle which was great. The small crispy balls (pani puri) with the filling and sauces were good. But I preferred the ones with the yoghurt. I’m the regular pani puri the sauces were a bit on the watery side and not a flavour explosion. The fried potato ball sandwich with sauces was great. Great combination of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The sauces were a nice accompaniment too. The masala dosas were decent. Not the best I’d ever had but pretty good. I prefer the masala dosa with the potato curry inside. The hollow ones always leave me wanting something more substantial. Besides what you can see in the pictures we also ordered a kofta curry, two naan breads, and a dessert. The curry sauce was beautifully rich and the fluffy koftas had nuts and possibly a little dried fruit inside. The dessert was also nice. It was reasonably priced. We felt like we had a feast for about $30 a head. Just be warned this place is completely vegetarian. But you barely notice it because of al the spice. No meat, although there is a lot of cheese and dairy. Sorry vegans. The menu is huge and I can’t wait to come up again and try something else or sample from the huge dessert cabinet.

Chatkazz - Indian Street Food & More in Adelaide offers a culinary exploration of Indian street food along with a variety of traditional dishes. Located in the Northfield neighbourhood, this eatery features a vibrant selection of meals including Chhole Bhatura and Pav Bhaji, which are among the most preferred by patrons. The menu is diverse, featuring sections like Bombay Chinese with items like Chilly Garlic Noodles, and a range of Indian-style pizzas such as Tandoori Pizza. Additionally, guests often enjoy combinations like Pav Bhaji and Chhole Bhatura, suggesting these dishes pair well together. This is my first experience and let me describe it. They packed wrong. I ordered ganthiya, fafda and sandwich dhokla. Ganthiya is okay it wasn't as I expected. Secondly, same as sandwich dhokla. It was hard not soft enough. Most importantly, they didn't pack fafda instead packed jalebi. This is not acceptable at all. I believe this is overrated restaurant. Based on above experience, I am giving them two stars.

I ordered a jinni dosa from them today and I have to say it was the worst Jinni dosa I have ever tasted. The vegetables were left in chunks not even bothered to chop fine for the dosa. Perhaps used what they use in their Chinese. The taste was nothing like the jinni dosas in mumbai. It had a very prominent taste of tomato ketchup and absolutely no dosa masala which is there in jinni dosas. There was no cheese on top and the dosas were tasteless just full of raw vegetables. I had a high expectation from this joint but I guess I may have ordered an item they want on their menu but have no idea how to cook. Sambhar was okay not authentic taste. I guess everyone can't get mumbai street food right. Yes I'm from mumbai and have eaten jinni dosas in not one but many places in mumbai before. Yours tastes nothing like that. Please don't tell me this is the way we make it here...then call it raw vegetables dosa not jinni dosa. Who puts tomato ketchup in dosa?

The seating is uncomfortable, especially by the glass windows, and the tables are too small to hold all the food. The menu is diverse, with all dishes being vegetarian, which is great, and the food tastes very good. However, the service is a bit odd. Throughout the meal, different staff members kept asking about our dining experience and how the food tasted, interrupting us even when we were talking with friends. This happened four times, significantly disrupting our dining experience. At the end, they handed us a feedback form to fill out, and then asked again when we paid, making it a total of five times asking. It's very intrusive. Why not wait until the end of the meal to hand out the form and ask for feedback, rather than constantly interrupting? Additionally, the staff should choose the right moments to ask, avoiding interruptions while customers are engaged in conversation.

Friendly and helpful staff. Ample car parking space. Large dining area but expect to wait to be seated in peak times. They have kept menus outside and order forms to be prepared with all your order. Best part is each food item has an two-three character item code which makes it v v easy. We were a group of 11 people and while we waited had our entire order ready. The staff cross checked the order with us and within 5-10mins, we had food being served. The food was absolutely amazing, fantastic, and delicious. The taste was authentic and not modified at all. They have a huge menu and it was certainly overwhelming because I wanted to order it all 😂😂. They also have Indian sweets and jalebi, which were absolutely delicious. Next door is Chatkazz Paan where fresh paan are made which just topped the experience. Overall experience was a delight and highly highly recommend them.
