What an awesome fun family pub. We are from Western Australia and are exploring South Australia. So we decided to spend a Friday night at the Christies Beach hotel and are so glad we did. We had such a great night playing hold the table 8 ball pool with the locals with a lot of laughs, drinks and fun. Happy hour was from 4 till 7pm and the Schooners, or "pints" of cider as they call them here, went down from $7.70 to $6.00 and the pool tables are free on Thursday and Friday from 4 till 8pm. Then we got involved in the raffle they have there every Friday night, which was great fun. The main prize was $4000 and jackpots $200 every week it isn't won. Then they also have a huge pile of Meat trays, 6 packs of beer, carton of beer and bottle of Scotch that all got won by lucky punters. We won a beautiful meat tray and were stoked. Then after 8pm they have karaoke on a Friday night which was a laugh and great fun. Such good singers too, including a girl with a beautiful voice who did a cover of a great Missy Higgins song. Great fun, you can even bring your own songs along to sing. The manager is named Vin and he was so nice, helpful and welcoming to us out of State visitors. Highly recommend checking out this great pub if you get the chance.

First time dining at the Christie’s but other guests had been before. Birthday lunch for 2 of our guests. Booked online and had to change the booking to add 1 more person, they were fully booked but accommodated us. A lovely lady was replying to my emails and am very grateful for her responsiveness - sorry forgot her name and deleted emails- Ordered drinks and food at the bar. Food came out in good time. I had salt and lemon squid with chips and salad, greatt Ttg serving fresh and tender squid with well seasoned crispy chips. 2 friends had Salmon with pumpkin, broccolini and hollandaise sauce, they said tilt was beautiful. 1 roast of the day for Nan, half serve of pork and it was a great 1/2 serve with all the veg and Nan really enjoyed it. Aunty had lamb sank and it was huge and she said was delicious. Parents had lambs fry and fish n chips and they said it was scrumptious and good portions. We had a lovely comfy booth, dining is huge with outdoor dining and kids playground. Lovely customer service, delicious food and responsive manager. Definitely will be returning.

This used to be a regular favourite of ours, but not after tonight. The "New Menu" is pretty basic to say the least. I can get a schnitty, fish & chip and pizza atmy corner shop. Their chips probably taste better too. Ours looked like they'd been cooked in month old oil. Boring selection compared to before. Hardly any choice. No specials. We all chose the roast, only to be told there wasn't any! The young staff have no people skills for hospitality. Friendly banter was even too much to ask for. The obvious manager on the floor was doing most of the work & the only plus for our experience. Then, my parents asked for the "decontructed" apple crumble.... This took 20 minutes for the "cheery" waitress to come drop on our table, clearly interrupting her aimless wandering. It looked like a plate of slop on a plate and not something that took so long to get. Like I said, this place was a regular favourite of ours. I don't know WHAT is going on there, besides the renovation of the kitchen. But the overall attitude, vibe and feel of the place is gone! Won't be going back any time soon

The buffet salads are fabulous compare to all other pubs I’ve tried in Adelaide. But the steak tastes horrible, very dry and tough. I asked for medium rare, not a piece of dry cardboard covered in oil. The steak tastes nothing and slightly burnt. Steak should be the simplest food to make, let’s just say if you don’t know how to cook, don’t put it on a griller. And maybe you need more experienced staff cause I told the staff about it, not even offer me anything else or a refund. Not to mention the staff mixed up my order with someone else and for some reason took them ages to just get a take away box. Not having good experience there and will tell others everything in this restaurant is great except the steaks. Horrible chef you have who couldn’t even cook the simplest thing.
