What an awesome fun family pub. We are from Western Australia and are exploring South Australia. So we decided to spend a Friday night at the Christies Beach hotel and are so glad we did. We had such a great night playing hold the table 8 ball pool with the locals with a lot of laughs, drinks and fun. Happy hour was from 4 till 7pm and the Schooners, or "pints" of cider as they call them here, went down from $7.70 to $6.00 and the pool tables are free on Thursday and Friday from 4 till 8pm. Then we got involved in the raffle they have there every Friday night, which was great fun. The main prize was $4000 and jackpots $200 every week it isn't won. Then they also have a huge pile of Meat trays, 6 packs of beer, carton of beer and bottle of Scotch that all got won by lucky punters. We won a beautiful meat tray and were stoked. Then after 8pm they have karaoke on a Friday night which was a laugh and great fun. Such good singers too, including a girl with a beautiful voice who did a cover of a great Missy Higgins song. Great fun, you can even bring your own songs along to sing. The manager is named Vin and he was so nice, helpful and welcoming to us out of State visitors. Highly recommend checking out this great pub if you get the chance.

First time dining at the Christie’s but other guests had been before. Birthday lunch for 2 of our guests. Booked online and had to change the booking to add 1 more person, they were fully booked but accommodated us. A lovely lady was replying to my emails and am very grateful for her responsiveness - sorry forgot her name and deleted emails- Ordered drinks and food at the bar. Food came out in good time. I had salt and lemon squid with chips and salad, greatt Ttg serving fresh and tender squid with well seasoned crispy chips. 2 friends had Salmon with pumpkin, broccolini and hollandaise sauce, they said tilt was beautiful. 1 roast of the day for Nan, half serve of pork and it was a great 1/2 serve with all the veg and Nan really enjoyed it. Aunty had lamb sank and it was huge and she said was delicious. Parents had lambs fry and fish n chips and they said it was scrumptious and good portions. We had a lovely comfy booth, dining is huge with outdoor dining and kids playground. Lovely customer service, delicious food and responsive manager. Definitely will be returning.

Recently stayed here for a work trip. When I booked the room online I wasn't able to see any rooms or details about what we could expect when we arrived. When your on the website the hotel looks amazing therefore we booked a room expecting it to be just as nice however it was a major let down. The room was still dirty. There were marks on all the walls, A hole in the roof, the TV remote didn't work, There was also damage to the TV, Damage to the mirror, Bathroom door was still blue straight from the shop floor. It was all mouldy down the bottom along the edge and the door also wouldn't latch shut which was a privacy concern when travelling for work with a client. The hotel it's self was amazing and the food was great. However, I wouldn't pay over $300 for two nights to stay here again when I have stayed in nicer hostels/ caravan parks.

Disappointing Experience with Poor Service

I visited Christies Beach Hotel last night with a friend who brought her dog along. We planned to sit outside, so I asked one of the staff if it was okay to have the dog with us in the outdoor decking area. The staff member said yes, so we chose a spot and I went inside to order food. I also requested a container and some water for the dog, but then I was suddenly told that dogs weren’t allowed on the decking after all, and we would have to leave.

As we were getting ready to go, another staff member came out and told us we could stay in the side lawn area, which is also the smoking area, but we’d have to fetch the food ourselves because they couldn’t bring it to us. This was inconvenient but better than finding another place, so I went back inside to place our order.

I was told the food would take 25-30 minutes, but when I returned to the counter after 30 minutes, they told me to wait another 15 minutes. When I asked if they could bring the food out to us to avoid multiple trips, I was initially refused, with the explanation that they had already made an exception by letting us stay with the dog. After some back-and-forth, another staff member agreed to bring the food to us.

The wait times were incredibly long—50 minutes for wings and over an hour for a steak and pizza. The overall experience was frustrating, with poor communication and service throughout the evening. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a smooth dining experience, especially if you have a...

Went for a friends birthday dinner last night. Directed to our table by a very friendly person however we were holding 2 small children and not given the kids menu (I had to go back and collect one). Ordering meals and when I asked for something to be taken off the order they didn't listen and thought I meant skin off the chicken I was ordering. I did get my refund but not after I had to stand and wait about 15 minutes for this to be sorted out. Asked if they did cocktails and was told no they don't when another friend had had cocktails there recently. Meals came out reasonably promptly but schnitzel was undercooked. As we were seated under a very large ac it got very cold with a number of people at the 2 tables we were booked at feeling very cold. When I asked a staff member if it could be turned down I got told they would turn it off but if another customer asked for it to be put back on then they would turn it back on. I was at this establishment for a further 30-40 minutes and the ac was never adjusted or turned off. They do have a little Cinema for the kids but its not very safe for little ones. I did not see a sign anywhere about children supervision and they should consider putting a child gate at the entrance to stop kids running in and jumping up on the seats. Over all food was good but the service was terrible. Only reason I would consider going back is due to the little Cinema as my grandsons did...

I'd like to share the comment of our done in on Friday 9th May 25 our Mother's Day celebration with my daughter and 3 yr old granddaughter. After waiting an hour for granddaughters pizza which was a joke for a kids size pita bread pizza of Hawaiian topping. Then to waiting over the hour for our 3 adult meals receiving 2 of ours 1 piece of grilled fish and chips plus burger then to be told my daughter quinoa salad plus chicken had been served at the wrong table. Disgusting to be told this and they'd make another which came out within 15 minutes and offered a dessert for the stuff up. This isn't the first time someone at my table has waited over an hour the last time the table of 12, 11 of us had finished our meal before the 12th meal came out. My daughter is a chef and was disgusted with the wait we had waited when restaurant wasn't busy. Let's hope your chefs are more on the ball on mother's day otherwise you'll have some very unhappy mothers and patrons. We won't be back again or recommend. Also I'd like to say although you've got cctv cameras on the playground the amount of older kids running and jumping all over the playground last night on the baby/toddler one as well was very dangerous, parents not observing their kids. Also if an accident was to happen inside how you'd get the child out I don't know cause my granddaughters mum had to squeeze in to get her out as the big kids had scared...
