Good Vibes But Bring Patience! Dropped by around 11 AM Sunday – classic brunch time, right? The almond croissant was fine (literally just a warmed-up pastry) and the latte tasted okay, but holy moly, the waiting game here is REAL. Here’s the tea ☕️: - Took 20 minutes to get a pre-made croissant. - Waited over 30 minutesnfor a simple latte. My phone battery died watching the clock! - My friend’s avocado toast? A full 60-minute wait. We joked about growing old by the time it arrived. Shoutout to the server who noticed our pain around the 45-minute mark and apologized – that helped a bit. But honestly, the whole place felt chaotic. Like, they forgot to bring forks/napkins with my food chaotic. Verdict: If you’re craving Instagram vibes and have zero plans for the next 2 hours? Maybe give it a shot. But if you’re hangry or value your weekend time… nah. It’s basically brunch with a side of patience training.

Visited this cafe a few days ago with a friend. The place was quite busy and we were lucky to find a table inside the cafe. My friend had been here previously and was impressed with the coffee. The caffè lattè was certainly every bit as good as he said. We ordered a couple of items at the counter along with the coffees. Even though the place was busy, our food orders came out quite quickly. The young lady taking our order at the counter was friendly and efficient. And so was the waitress who brought out the food to our table. Visitors may find the car park (shared with other businesses located in this place) here to be quite packed but it is what it is! The coffee is good and the food we ordered was tasty... definitely a place to visit if you are in or around Newton. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great atmosphere. Outdoor area is amazing. It was reasonably busy while we were there, but we still got our coffee very quickly, very nice coffee too I might add. Our meals followed pretty soon after and they were spot on. Incredibly friendly service and a great vibe. Menu options are good, definitely a place for a return visit. Glad we came, and it was only by chance as the Cafe we were going to was to packed for us to get a seat, so a sliver lining 😇 My only negative, in amongst this amazing food, frozen hash browns. Maybe I'm spoilt but I'm yet to find a Cafe around that makes their own. Cheers guys. We will see you again soon, next time I'll bring the fam.. 🤩🤩

Will never return. Went for breakfast (3 people). I ordered a latte, cappuccino and long black. First red flag was they made a flat white instead of a cappuccino. Then went to order food, should’ve known there would be an issue as they wrote down my order on ripped pieces of paper. Asked for a croissant with jam and butter and got no butter. Smoothie didn’t turn up so went to talk to the girl who served me, she said I’ll look into it. Still nothing 10 mins later so went up a second time and was told the same thing. 15 mins later still no smoothie so I went up and asked for a refund - to say the server looked like he couldn’t care less was an understatement and just said okay here’s your money. And to top it off, no goodbye or thank you from the owner as we left (we walked right past them).

Updated since owner response: the owner has lied and said that I only made staff aware when I asked for the refund. Stop lying to me and your customers. Seeing as how you are known to check CCTV footage when responding to reviews, go back and look at the footage and you will see me come to the counter twice. Take the review on the chin, listen to the feedback and see it as room for...

Went to Clay & Co. for the first time on the Labour Day holiday, for breakfast. It was pretty quiet, and service was quick and friendly. The outdoor areas are quite pleasant with music, pot plants and a mix of sunny and shady spots. Overall though, it was a disappointing visit. First the good - the sourdough is nice quality, my hash brown was hot and crispy, and my coffee was decent, although a bit on the weak side. Unfortunately my meal was ruined by the poached eggs being cold. I don't just mean they had cooled down after cooking - they were cold, all the way through. The whites were also undercooked, which is forgivable with hot eggs, but really off putting when they are cold (again, not a hint of warmth). I had asked for my chutney on the side, but didn't get it at all, and my partner's coffee was noticeably weaker than mine (in colour and flavour). One extra gripe - I don't have an issue with paying a public holiday surcharge...however, when you have a separate menu titled 'Public Holiday', why wouldn't you show the public holiday prices? So, in the end, we paid $68 for 2 meals and 2 coffees, half of which were...

Food shouldn’t be an ordeal of having to deal with the terrible attitude and underwhelming service of sub-20 year old staff who would prefer to be anywhere else but there. We get it this is just a layover on your way to achieving a meaningless degree.

I guess this is the reason people go to Maccas for breakfast.

My Omelette had shell in it and when my juices finally arrived they had the sit too long and split look of a dehydrated lips sitting in the sun.

The worst part was my kid had to wait until 15 minutes after our food had arrived for her waffle.

Only shining light was the one bloke on floor who was trying his hardest when surrounded by the incompetence of youth who don’t understand that this is how capitalism is.

The menu has that level of pretension for a cafe back in the 2010s when everything was more garnish than substance but none of the execution. It’s an omelette, I shouldn’t need a degree in botany to understand it or forestry experience in order to eat it.

How this place is even remotely associated with Ovo I will never understand. Second experience was worse...
