I have now been going to Panini brothers for 10 years. It has become much busier and more popular. There isa great variety of fresh , tasty food and most importantly the prices are much lower than any of the other bakeries I have visited. However ,there appears to be a shortage of staff which makes it very difficult for the staff feverishly trying to multi task. It is even imore difficult for them when the door leading to the outdoor tables isn't automatic . This should be addressed. Propping it open isn't the answer! Too cold in the winter and recently two birds flew in and there was chaos. Another problem is the long queues of people trying to put in their order. This is causing frustration to customers and staff. There should be one person there who can speak good English and isn't also expected to wait and clean tables. There is a constant change of staff.I was particularly disappointed that Walter left ( I suspect not from choice!) He was a very hard worker and had good communication skills. He was polite, efficient and had a very pleasant manner. I hope he has found somewhere to work where his efforts are appreciated. I used to enjoy the atmosphere when there was less intrusive music being played. The Italian songs were soothing and in keeping with the food. There is now a contest between loud music and loud customers! So thank you to those understaffed workers doing their best to serve so many customers. Perhaps an automated ordering service could be set up and please give them a break by bringing back a self serving jug of water! The Covid ...
Read moreOk. I get the hype. As someone who has moved here from Melbourne, I understand why the lines are always so long here. Their paninis are delicious!!!!! The bread will leave you speechless. The taste is perfect.
Their bakery area had repeating customers. As a first timer, I didnt know that you needed a ticket before buying. The regulars obviously knew that I was a newbie, but were also nice enough to show me how to buy. As you walk in (if the line isn’t out the door), you grab a number from the number machine located by the door entrance and patiently wait for your turn — the shop will be busy, guaranteed. Regulars already know what they want. But take your time to look at their pastries and deserts whilst waiting for your number to be called. Best to come early to get the good stuff!
I think the only downfall to the place is that they are undergoing renovations and there are no seats inside the cafe area. All their seating area is out in the cold. Their toilets are not accessible due to renovations, but there are toilets in the nearby shopping area. There is also parking at the front.
Also, if you are new, the regulars may give off an intimidating vibe, because they do come to grab their stuff and leave…but hopefully you will come across some who are kind and willing to help just like I did, and hopefully you will walk away with great food!
I bought 2 cannolis from the bakery, and 2 paninis from the cafe area. Both were the best thing ever and will be a regular...
Read moreMy wife, who is of Asian descent but speaks basically perfect English, just reported to me an absolutely horrible and unacceptable occurrence that occurred in the Cafe section of this business. After ordering a few items, the man serving (a man of apparent European descent with a very strong "European " accent himself) said "Stop,Stop ,Stop,I can't understand you!". She then started ordering again slowly and pointing at items so as to make the process easier to which he rolled his eyes at her and said " It's not as easy as you think!". My wife then pointed at a croissant and also said she would like a cafe late ,he put up his hand towards her, and again said "Stop Stop Stop...one thing at a time!" This behavior is rude and totally unacceptable in the diverse community that is modern Australia and simply cannot be tolerated. Shame on this man and a business that would hire such a ...
