UPDATE: Javas menu shows a big ranges of teas however they dont actually have alot of them or are unwilling to open a new pack for you when dining in. If you dont have it or dont want to sell it to me then dont advertise it on your menu boards. Simple. Food is still very good, the range of teas and staff knowledge of teas is poor especially for a cafe that clearly sells itself on its tea and coffee ranges. A few of the staff members are helpful but the majority of them clearly dont care and dont want to be there. Personalities of a wet fart.
Original post: Note to the owner. If you advertise that you sell a wide range of loose tea products then your staff should know basic information about the product they are selling. I went to buy tea with my food order and asked your staff what was the strongest black tea and they couldn't give me any information about the teas that you sell. I attended Java two days in a row as i liked the first visit as the burger i purchased was delicious however it had onion on it when i had asked specifically for no onion (the person taking my order wasnt paying attention), the second day i had a big breakfast and the poached egg was more like a boiled egg, these are just a few little things that you could improve to make a good cafe into a great cafe. Will be back again to try for a third crack at it as the food and tea is good...
Read moreCame here today about 50ish minutes before closing time. I understand the girls all want to go home for the day. I was asked nicely by one lady what I was ordering. I did specify if it's not possible to get coffee, that's okay and she told me it was okay.
I was greeted (hardly) by a younger girl, who looked up at me after finishing what she was doing and instead of saying the usual "hello, what can I get you?" I bluntly get "what am I doing?"... I was shocked because I truly assumed she was not speaking to me but I answered, another employee approached her and asked if something had been done out to which this girl responded with "YES" in an awful tone infront of me... Again, I was shocked because if I acted like this at my work to employees, customers, anybody, I would no doubt in my mind not have a job anymore.
Placed my order, had 2 iced drinks and 3 cakes. Cakes came out, great. One coffee came out iced and one not iced. I mentioned that it was iced and I was again met with no apology, just bluntly told me I had not asked for iced (which I had) and she stormed off with attitude.
Honestly sad because I cannot fault the food or coffees. But the customer service today for whatever...

We walked away this time and wont be back and word of mouth is a powerful thing!....Hopefully you take note and sort out the staffing issues you have, if you dont like your job or being friendly maybe cafe work...
