I recently discovered Freshly Pho, a charming family-run Vietnamese spot on Newton Road in Campbelltown, and it quickly became my new favorite for authentic Asian cuisine. As a family business, you can really feel the passion and care they put into every dish â itâs like eating at a relativeâs home, but with restaurant-quality flavours!
We started with their crispy spring rolls, which were perfectly golden and packed with fresh veggies and pork â the accompanying dipping sauce was spot on. For mains, the combination beef pho was a standout: generous portions of tender beef in a rich, aromatic broth thatâs full of depth and not overly sweet. My partner went for the lemongrass chicken with fried rice, and it was fresh, flavourful, and had just the right amount of spice.
We also tried the quail, which arrived hot and juicy with a delicious kick. The service was warm and attentive; the staff were patient with our questions and gave great recommendations. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual family dinner or quick takeaway. Prices are reasonable, and everything felt fresh and made with quality ingredients.
If youâre in the Adelaide area craving Vietnamese food, do yourself a favor and check out Freshly Pho â itâs worth the visit, and Iâll definitely...
Read moreService at Freshly Pho was fast & friendly. I tried the BĂșn bĂČ Huáșż (Spicy Vietnamese Beef Noodle Soup) and the Vietnamese Iced Coffee.
The soup was fresh, but compared to others I have had, it was definitely lacking in flavour (not salty enough).
Some fish sauce and shrimp paste could have helped, but it was unavailable. Typically, in any âtraditional Vietâ restaurant, these condiment are readily available on the table.
Also, BĂșn bĂČ Huáșż is usually served with fresh shredded lettuce & banana heart/flower (see my photo) both of these items were missing đ
The Viet Iced coffee tasted ok, but need more ice, as once you added the percolated coffee/condensed milk mixture, the glass ended up being half empty.
Freshly Pho was worth a try, but I wonât be returning or recommending, there are much better Viet eateries within driving distance.
Namely, The Parade Norwood or Magill Road, both of which have great Vietnamese places (which I have previously...
Read moreReally, really good, Pho. Only one size and not all the varieties you would get in Chinatown or the more Vietnamese populated areas, but the flavour of the broth was amazing!
I was expecting less, considering the area is not known for Vietnamese food and more catered for an older Aussie demographic. I was very pleasantly surprised the second I tried the Pho. Good beef and generous amount with an amazing flavour!
Crispy chicken with fried rice was also really good. Nice produce, fresh and flavourful. Crispy skin, nice sauce, and a good balanced fried rice with some nice (lightly) pickled vegetables. Very authentic!
Service was good, and it's a nice spot.
It's definitely worth a visit, and it's definitely recommended. I will be returning, and I will get a photo before I start...
