Looking for a fantastic spot to unleash your inner pokie enthusiast? Look no further! This place is an absolute gem, with its clean and inviting atmosphere that will make you feel right at home. And let's talk about space! It's like they've harnessed the power of "expand-o-matic" because this place is incredibly spacious, giving you all the elbow room you need to comfortably test your luck. Now, I must admit, Lady Luck hasn't exactly bestowed her generous blessings upon me during my visits. But hey, that's all part of the thrilling rollercoaster ride of pokies, right? Who knows, maybe your fortune will take a different turn! The best part? They've gone above and beyond to enhance your experience. Drumroll, please... introducing their very own rewards card system! It's like they're saying, "Hey, we appreciate your loyalty, and we want to shower you with extra perks." So grab that card and start racking up the rewards like a champion! Oh, and did I mention the opening hours? From 8 am until 2 pm, they've got your back whenever you're craving that pokie fix. It's the perfect time to embrace the thrill and anticipation that comes with each spin. So, if you're looking for a dazzling, clean, and expansive destination for your pokie adventures, make sure to give this place a spin. With its own rewards card system, you never know when the tides of fortune might turn in your favor. Get ready to immerse yourself in the excitement!

I've been to the Crown a few times and food generally is up to the expected standard. However, very disappointed last week as the chef's daily special I ordered was not what I was expecting. The dish listed as a roast of the day under the Chef's daily special was written as " Slowly smoked and open-fire cooked brisket". What was served was clearly not brisket. Instead the meat served looked like a porterhouse/striploin/sirloin steak, the main muscle and attached multifidus muscle were clearly visible. Furthermore, the grain of the meat and lack of connective tissue was the same as a striploin. The meat was quite dry and lacked flavour. Using the correct cuts of meat as stated on the menu cooked using an appropriate method of cookery will enable the hotel to better meet customers expectations. I hope this feedback helps.

Splendid Staff. Amazing Ambience. Fabulous Food. No wonder this restaurant is so loveable. I spend a couple of hours at this place at least 9 times a year while waiting for my wife’s parlour appointment at the Reynella. This is indeed one wait which I look forward to without fail. And this visit makes the drive from Brighton worthwhile. My sense is they have raving fans (not just customers) and this is based on so many visits over the last few years. If you are looking for an experience, please do visit them for a Saturday or Sunday brunch/ lunch preferably. Otherwise they are open daily from 8am-2am. Special credits to the staff who made today’s experience worthwhile - Emily and Hayden.

Dined here tonight with 20 friends. When we arrived there were only about another 10 to 15 people seated. After ordering waited about half an hour for meals to come. I ordered medium rare scotch fillet steak with chips and salad. The steak was perfectly cooked but was full of sinews which made it unpleasant. It was also luke warm and the chips were cold and soggy. One of the other diners on our table ordered chicken schnitzel, chips and salad with Dianne sauce on the side. At one stage the waitress came around and asked if anyone ordered the schnitzel with mushroom sauce but no one claimed it and it was taken away. After everyone had their meal the schnitzel with Dianne sauce still had not arrived. The time lapse here was between 5 and 10 mins. A waitress was approached regarding the missing meal. She went to the kitchen to find out about the missing order. A minute layer she returned with the meal. You guessed it - it was the same one no one claimed and it still had the mushroom sauce. The schnitzel was only luke warm and the chips were cold and soggy. It obviously had been sitting in the kitchen during this time. The waitress was told again when the missing meal was queried that it was schnitzel with Dianne sauce yet she was still given the meal with mushroom sauce. We did not make a fuss but when the waitress asked if we enjoyed our meal we told her the problem that had occurred with the meals. She was very pleasant and said she would get the manager to speak to us. Quite some time later he approached us regarding the meals. I told him the problem with the steak and chips and was told that the steak needed to rest so when it is dished up it was left to rest before being brought to the table. I can understand the steak resting but why did the chips get added before and not after so that they are hot and crisp when served. I paid $35 for a sub standard steak but expected an apology and 'we will try to do better' should have come from the manager. My co diner didn't get an apology either just the response of 'when there are tables of 20 or more someone gets the short end of the stick'. Really!!!! I made the comment about the capacity at the time and staff should be professional enough to get the order right. We were not looking for a freebie but expected an apology not the response given. I am disappointed and angry about the response given by the manager who also said that there was not a lot he could do about the situation. Only when he heard me talking about the review did he approach me (not my friend) and asked if I would like a coffee or anything else probably meaning dessert. Both were refused. As I said we wanted to give him our complaint so that it didn't happen again and we were not looking for a free meal but his attitude and the comments made about someone getting the short end of the stick was pathetic. Diners do not go to place and pay a good price for a meal to be served sub standard food and wrong orders and basically be told 'that is what happens with bookings for 20 or more'. The owners of the hotel need a new manager and staff that can get orders straight. I will...

Directed at New management!! What are you doing???? INVEST IN MORE OUTDOOR CHAIRS AT FRONT BAR, SLUSHIES PLEASE, LOVE YOUR STAFF KEEP THEM HAPPY, BUILD A BLOODY BEER GARDEN ALREADY!! SURPRISED YOUR STILL IN BUISNESS CONSIDERING YOUR COMPETITION. The whole atmosphere has declined at a rapid rate since your overtaking. I used to walk in to genuinely happy bubbly staff (not forced) unsure if you are treating them well. They are the backbone of this small community pub and considering you have zero beer garden and have had horrible food for decades (unsure why no management can get this right) the current staff have kept your new investment afloat. Yes people are replaceable but no one wants to work under ultimatums that make everyone's lives miserable or for people with that attitude. (I'm assuming here but I have a gut feeling as it's just changed dramatically, apologise if im wrong but it seems the logical explanation) And I can tell you it use to be a happy place I looked forward to visiting after work etc now it feels depressing and glum. Take care of your staff and the buisness takes care of itself. Coming from another buisness owner. You want to improve the place or the revenue from it??? Build a beer garden, have slushies in summer ... here's an idea Get a good menu that TASTES good.

Your staff are not the problem the venue is and it has sooooooooo much potential given the location to be a brilliant pub. The ideas are endless... You could even contact council to involve the river bank in a summer beer garden 😀 😉 (im a designer haha) also the front bar could do with expanding and some fun games to play, there's a pool table and that's all really... set up games and make the place exciting and or fun.

Focus your energies appropriately or the only thing working for the pub at the current time will cease.

Notice in the other reviews the only bit that pleased anyone was your friendly staff sure lack of training but that's your fault not theirs and some people must've lucked out with ok food. All I know is all my family and friends avoid eating there and every 10 years we try again and leave with the...

After coming to the Crown at least 4 times in the last 6 weeks, with no issues with food and service, last nights visit with a table of 13 for 6 family members birthdays, was an absolute circus. From Having 3 menu items "unavailable" an hour into opening, and being told 30 mins after ordering the meals to choose something else, to having one couple served their main meals (the last couple to order) before anyone else had received their entrees, having to remind staff that we hadn't received our entrees, they came out 50mins after ordering, having to remind staff of sauces that go with the entree, to having the manager literally scream at one of our elderly family members because they forgot to order gravy with their meal and the manager tried to charge for the sauce that according to the menu, the meal comes with the sauce. This supposed "manager " argued with 4 people in our group, until a wait staff had to take him outside to calm him down. To one couple asking for a refund, receiving their refund AND their food in a takeaway box, but wouldn't refund anyone else at the table, to reminding staff that one family member hadn't even received their meal after everyone eventually getting theirs, to some meals having hot meat and cold veg, and some having cold meat and hot veg, to having to chase up the financial difference of paying for one meal (that was unavailable) and having to substitute for a cheaper option. To being offered a dessert as compensation for the inconvenience of the entire night and then having that offer retracted. Our table spent upwards of $400 for this clown act This is the first time i have ever felt the need to leave a negative review of an establishment What an absolute appalling display of professionalism for a restaurant, in all my years of eating out, this was by far the worst experience i have ever encountered, and has left a bad taste in my mouth. Will not be returning and will be letting people know not to bother with this...
