Can't speak for interior or staff as I used uber.
TL:DR For a take away Chinese meal, exactly as expected with a few nice surprises. Not authentic fantastic food, but above average takeaway Chinese.
Pleasantly surprised on this. Prawn chips come heat sealed in a bag, I realise their just prawn chips but getting them not stale is a big plus. Better than most take aways.
Satay beef, wasn't just deep fried! Granted the meat could have been cut a bit smaller, but thick decent sized meat that wasn't too tough. Decent price, sauce not very peanut flavoured but not bland. I've had better but I've had a lot worse. Overall pretty happy with this one.
Fried rice was a decent portion, decent amount of ingredients that weren't just a ton of peas. Not amazing, but for what takeaway fried rice is (rather than fried rice as I know it) it's spot on so can't fault them on this at all.
Red pepper chilli sauce was rather bland even though advertised as spicy. Probably a side effect of Australian cuisine not being able to handle any heat at all, so more likely Australian culture is more to blame than them. Sauce was a bit bland and a bit odd, could definitely use work. The meal itself (other than a few too many green beans for my liking, but then I just don't like green beans so again not really their fault) was average/decently cooked, a little uneven in the vegetable cooking but again for a takeaway I really can't complain. A quick trip to my pantry for my staple sauces and I fixed the sauce, so would probably...
Read moreI went in on a friday afternoon with my 6 year old daughter. The place was empty. Ill say the girl who served us was very good at trying to be professional. Food was very tastless. Fried Rice was stodgy, the chinese veggies were pre frozen and then extra soft and over cooked. No hint of being fried. Not offered any prawn crackers for my daughter. Had to ask for cuttlery and plates to eat off of. The owner wore very average casual clothes, so no effort on his part to atleast look like a person of hospitality for a reasturant as such. Over heard the young boy having to call a customer back to say they undercharged the customer and that they needed to pay $17 more if they wanted their food to be delivered, along with no appology. I tried to order plain singapore noodles cause my daughter cant handle any spicy stuff. Which i was denied from the chef saying they cannot change that. Which tells me that they do not prepare and cook their food fresh... hemce the feozen vegetables i mentioned earlier. This place is a waste of space where someone else could set up shop. Atleast order from Iron...
Read moreOrdered at 710 pm, was told a 25-30min wait. Did not receive food until 8pm after waiting in store for 30mins, were only told 'it's being prepared' the few times we asked about how long it would be. Upon getting home opened it all up - soups were cold, long soup okay at best although chicken sweet corn pretty good. Scallop fritters nice, some were just the 'fritter' without the scallop though, so nothing but a large glob of batter. Fried rice was mediocre at best, and that's the core of a meal from a Chinese restaurant! Mongolian lamb and salt and pepper squid were good, lemon chicken just okay. Despite spending over $85 (definitely not worth it) were given no prawn crackers, and not a hint of apology for the excessively long wait. Will not be dining in or taking out from this...
