Marcellina Aberfoyle — Restaurant in Adelaide

The oozing pictures speak for themselves. We ordered a steak and onion pizza added bacon and a swirl of BBQ sauce....I repeat a swirl of BBQ sauce. When the pizza arrived the delivery driver asked for a plate to catch the ooze coming from the box. I called the shop to complain within seconds I was yelled at before i could finish what happened, the driver had reported the problem and the owner blamed me straight away. I tried to remain calm but he kept yelling at me telling me the soggy dripping pizza was my fault because I ordered it with BBQ sauce. I admit I snapped and yelled back for him to stop yelling at me after taking his abuse for quite a while. The owner had me in tears but kept yelling saying we dont make the pizza with bbq sauce so its my fault. I then handed the phone to my husband who was also yelled at and all he said was hello, my husband kept saying hello but the marcellina guy he just kept yelling. The pizza was dripping, awful, disgusting and the service was the most appalling I have had anywhere. We contacted head office and had no apology, no offer of refund just an admission there is a problem with the management at Aberfoyle Park store and not to go there till it's fixed. I replied ill never visit another...

Updated review: We heard the store was under new management so we gave it another go and have been back 3 more times since. No complaints on any front. The service, the food and the atmosphere are all great. Well done on turning things around for this restaurant!

Old review below: No issue with the service. They took my order and it was correct. The issue was everything else.

The person who took my order had just been handling ingredients to make a pizza then came to serve me at the counter without washing his hands. After taking my order they returned to food preparation without washing their hands.

Speaking of, the hand basin was covered in sludge.

The environment in general was filthy. The booster chair was covered in grime. The decorations were all washed out and faded. There were loose/ exposed cables hanging out of the roof. There was a table in the dining room overflowing with dusty paper work. The magazines in the waiting area were faded and falling apart, dated May 2022.

The pizzas were absolutely disgusting. Ham and pineapple, and surf and turf.

The H&P was inedible. It was dripping and oozing and tasted terrible.

The S&T was sickly sweet and also oozing.

Waited over 1.5hrs for the delivery of our $80 order through uber eats where we were only 7km away. Order kept getting delayed. Called to ask what the delay was and the person was rude just making excuses, no sorry for the inconvenience or the delay just blamed the uber drive who hadnt even arrived yet then back tracked and said he hadn't cooked it.- really after 1 hour of ordering?! When we received the food it was cold (as the uber driver did 2 drops) Mushrooms gravy on my schnitzel tasted like it was cooked in a cup of vinger and our 2yr old who loves pasta refused to eat his. I dont blame him. 1.5hrs for a green salad, traditional pasta a schnitzel. Oh and some $16 pizza base thing with a pinch of tomato and red capsicum on it. Frozen pizza from Coles is better value. Wont be ordering from here again...
