This place has been taken over under new owners and new management for approximately one year ago. I didn't know this until yesterday when I visited again for dinner. The place is way better than before. The food is excellent. I think this place will become my new "go to" location for Vietnamese food. The food is honest traditional Vietnamese food presented with a modern elegance. The taste speaks for itself and I could tell in the first bite. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food you get. Last night, I tried three dishes: 1). Banh Khot - small Vietnamese savoury pancakes with prawn on top and accompany herbs and lettuce. 2). Banh Can Cua - a crab meat soup noodles. 3). Hokkien Noodles with Beef - stir fried egg noodles. The first and third dish were excellent. The best I've ever had those dishes. It was the first time I tried the second dish which was nice but I have no other basis for comparison. I would definitely go back to get the first and third dishes again. See attached photo of the banh khot dish. This was a stand-out. The venue has been renovated and expanded from before. It is much larger and spacious for its seating capacity. It has a good atmosphere and very friendly and welcoming staff. This place is a hidden gem. They need to broadcast that they are new owners with a new menu because the food is much better than before. There was nothing wrong with the previous owners or their food but it was cheap buffet that was pre-prepared and you get what you pay for. Nothing wrong with that if thats what you want. However, the food now is fresh and good quality, which is so far apart from before. I am very impressed with the turn around. A new local gem. I am very keen to go back and try more of the menu.

We had such a fun and delicious time dining at this Vietnamese spot, and everything we ordered was bursting with freshness and flavour. The standout dish for me was the Wrap and Roll platter which came beautifully arranged with crisp lettuce, herbs, soft rice noodles, slices of sweet and smoky BBQ pork, and golden crunchy pieces of fried sweet potato. What made this dish so enjoyable was that you got to wrap your own cold rolls, a hands-on experience that kept everything super fresh. You could customise each roll just the way you liked it, which made it feel both interactive and satisfying. The BBQ pork was absolutely delicious, perfectly charred with that sweet, smoky flavour that lingers in the best way. My only suggestion would be to include a bit more mint on the platter as we found ourselves running out pretty quickly. We also ordered the salt and pepper chicken wings as an entrée and they were a hit. The wings were perfectly crispy with a light coating that held up well to the generous scatter of garlic, chopped spring onion, and sweet capsicum. The garlic flavour really stood out, in the best way, and made them incredibly moreish. Every bite was crunchy, savoury, and packed with flavour. Altogether, it was such an enjoyable meal. The food was vibrant and tasty and felt like great value. I would definitely come back to order these dishes again, and honestly, I can't wait to work my way through the rest of the menu.

Dinner at @gao_adelaide: delicious Vietnamese food, and it's dishes that you don't normally see at other Vietnamese restaurants. Such big portions too 😊😊. . Banh beo chen - steamed cups of rice flour, topped with wet/dry shrimp, scallion oil, toasted peanuts, fried shallots, bread crumbs: we have never had this dish before, and it was really tasty! The flavours were really nice 😍😍. Apparently it is some form of street food. . Bot chien - Vietnamese fried rice cake with eggs, served with scallions, pickled carrots and sweet soy sauce: this was similar to a Malaysian dish, with fried rice cakes in an omelette. This was super yummy 🤤🤤. . Caramelised fish sauce chicken wings: you can't go wrong with chicken wings, especially when the sauce is so sticky and delicious 😋🤤😋🤤. . Fried king prawns: I found the batter a bit too thick, but the flavours were good! The prawns were very tender and juicy too.

Saying goodbye to one of my most favourite restaurants. We’ve dined in this restaurant for countless times. We’ve tolerated the downsides of this restaurant because we thought the food was ok but this time we can’t tolerate their complete lack of concern about customer well fare relating to food allergies. The downsides are the dirty floor, sticky table, floor staff who clearly doesn’t have any concept about customer service, etc. My favourite dishes here are the Bánh hỏi thịt nướng, flan caramel, bò lá lốt, cơm tấm. This time, I ordered hủ tíu nam vang (Phnompenh noodle soup). I specifically requested no prawn and liver. My food arrived with prawn in it. I told the waitress immediately that I ordered without prawn and I emphasised that I’m allergic to prawn. No apologies whatsoever. She brought the food back to the kitchen and quickly came back within few seconds without the prawn. They took the prawn out. In my case, I’m lucky that my allergy is not severe so I ate it anyway. But I hope that you will educate yourself about food allergy so you won’t kill people with severe food allergy...
