Before I visited this shop today, I wondered if it was a small supermarket with a small deli.
It has an incredible deli, with many Italian products or food. The shop is in a nature that I haven't seen something similar before. It is not too big, but in terms of a deli, it's of a decent size, though the waiting area in front of the deli counter was a bit congested.
It is definitely not a supermarket as they mainly sell food, such as breads, biscuits, pasta, cooking sauces, frozen food, milk, fruit jams and olive oil, etc. They also have decent bakery and deli counter, which were pretty busy, and many customers were waiting for services.
In the deli counter, I saw there were chicken schnitzel, bacons, leg hams, sausages, and many choices of cheeses, etc.
There was another food counter selling some pre-cooked pasta, rissoto and pizza, etc. I also saw there were many carton food trays with hot food like fried meat balls or cold food like salami and ham with cheese, etc. They were well packed and ready for the customer's pick-up.
Obviously, this little deli looked very popular for the online ordering of food platters for self pick-up or even delivery, maybe. I was a bit curious and had just checked their website. I found they have many choices of online food ordering choices available, such as antipasto platters, crumbed platters, savoury platters, cheese platters, sandwich tray, mini burgers tray, fruits trays and party pasta etc. So it's definitely a very good choice for my future home parties or simply when I want to eat good...
ย ย ย Read moreI've shopped at Glynburn Gourmet for some years. Their range of gourmet foods is great, and the quality is generally good. Much of their stuff is wildly expensive, but you can find items you'll struggle to find elsewhere, and maybe the occasional bargain. The problem is the service, which ranges from indifferent to downright rude. As multiple other reviews here attest, you will typically wait five or ten minutes at the unattended checkout, while staff chat at the deli counter and stubbornly ignore you. On my visit today they were in the midst of some kind of stock-take or revamp, and a good half the products on their shelves had no prices, either on the shelves or on the products. At the checkout, I pointed out to a bloke who seemed to be either the owner or manager (or both) that this was frustrating. He shot back with an extremely aggressive spray, along the lines of "It's no use complaining to me; we're short staffed...", etc. When I added that I might well have bought more if I'd been able to see the prices he all but spat "Buy something or don't buy something; I don't care". Long story short: in future I will be shopping for gourmet foods at Schinella's in Prospect or Marino's at the Central Market. Their products are more-or-less equally over-priced, but they at least look like they care that you...
ย ย ย Read moreI love my regular visits to this Italian deli and grocer and cafe. The deli counter is well staffed so it's never a long wait to get served except on a Saturday morning maybe... They have a pretty good selection of mainly imported and some local cheeses at better prices than other gourmet stores. And the same applies to their charcuterie range. They have fresh selection of beef, lamb, chicken, quails and beaut Italian all pork sausages. The marinated beef, lamb and chicken are marinated in just olive oil, garlic and parsley and that's all. Just wonderful. All of what I've described is just the deli counter! Then there is a fully stocked freezer of prawns, baccalร , preprepared meals, desserts etc. There are display racks of everything and anything Italian from chocolate spread to pasta to mustard fruits, olives, olive oils, balsamic vinegars etc, etc. Clearly, there is too much to mention when it comes to their stock of what you can buy. The staff are all family so they're all committed to good polite service and because of this I enjoy my visits here to restock my pantry of delicious Italian foods. Buon...
