Heidi's Bakery — Restaurant in Adelaide

my family and I live in Shepparton and today we tried the Anzac Biscuits baked at Hide's Bakery for the 1st time. Normally I'm not a big fan of Anzac biscuits like the rest of my family because I've always found them to be over crunchy and very hard when biting into them when we've bought them from other places. However the one that I had from Hide's Bakery, I really enjoyed. I found the texture to be not too hard but not over soft either, and the taste of the biscuit just melted in your mouth. I really enjoyed having an Anzac Biscuit from there, as they seem to be a Bakery that sells the old fashioned cakes and slices that everyone young and old use to love having with a coffee and catch-up with friends for morning or afternoon tea. It's hard to find a good bakery these days as the majority of bakeries don't bake these types of old fashioned slices/ cakes in bakeries...

Pies and pasties used to be delicious however my last 2 visits they tasted like they were microwaved before putting in the display cabinet. As I was in the shopping centre yesterday I’d thought I’d ask the server if this was the case and they said, “yes they are microwaved before going into the display area”. I continued on with my shopping and before I left for home I decided to to buy a Cream sponge cake for my partner at home. I waited at the counter for a while with the server facing the rear of the store at the cupboard area and not even acknowledging me standing there. I felt uncomfortable and decided to leave. I won’t be back to this store. Which is a shame because I believe in supporting the smaller businesses over big boys. Ie I’ll be buying my bakery needs at Drakes with the rest of my grocery shopping instead of buying bread and cakes...

Terrible customer service. Went here to grab a coffee and a few cakes to take home for my family and the women behind the counter was more interested in vacuuming the floor. As it was 3pm and she looked like she was closing I asked if coffee was still available and the response was mm yeh with her face scrunched up as if I’d asked her to do something out of her job description. After that I decided to leave it and go elsewhere and she was very quick to continue vacuuming when I said it was ok I won’t worry about it. I will never return after...
