Lazziz Afghan Cuisine — Restaurant in Adelaide

I have tried many restaurants serving Kabuli Pulao, skewers, and fries, but this was by far the worst experience. The food was extremely disappointing—the rice came in solid blocks, and the fries were dead cold, stuck to the container. I paid $45 for this meal, only to receive it in low-quality containers that let all the air in, causing the food to get cold during delivery.

On top of that, they placed a chilled can in the same bag as the hot food, which made the meat completely tasteless and cold. This is unacceptable food handling.

The reviews you see for this place are misleading. The staff at the counter actively ask customers for positive reviews in exchange for discounts, so don’t trust them. My experience with customer service was terrible as well. When I called to report the issue, I was rudely told that they couldn’t do anything about it—completely dismissing my complaint.

I strongly advise against ordering from this restaurant. There are plenty of other great places in Adelaide where you can get quality food and good service. I had to order from another restaurant on the weekend because of this disappointing experience. Save your money and...

I’ve visited Lazziz a couple of times in the past and had good experiences, which is why I came back. But today’s visit was frustrating and disappointing. It feels like the ownership or management has changed — and not for the better.

I ordered BBQ Chicken with Kabuli Rice, which is clearly listed on the menu for $17.99. But at the counter, I was charged $19.99. When I politely asked why, the staff member told me it was because I chose Kabuli rice — even though the menu clearly states the price includes Kabuli rice.

When I pointed this out, instead of checking or explaining politely, he rudely responded: "I am the staff here. I know the price of every item." His tone was arrogant and completely unprofessional.

This wasn’t about the $2. It was about the lack of respect, poor customer service, and the staff member’s dismissive and rude attitude. There was no effort to clarify or even listen. I felt uncomfortable and disrespected.

I decided to try this restaurant for a takeaway and ordered three servings of Mantu over the phone. When I arrived to collect my order, I was disappointed to find that they hadn't provided any utensils no fork, spork, or even a napkin. It was quite inconvenient, especially since I planned to eat some of it right away. When I opened the containers, the Mantu looked unappetizing, as if it had been boiled with red kidney beans. The presentation was lackluster, and it became clear that the dish had been microwaved instead of freshly prepared. The texture and taste reflected this; it was bland and rubbery.
