Wanted a quick breakfast coffee on my way to an appt, and decided to stop at MacDonalds at Richmond. Service was poor, decided as rhe drive through appeared really busy that i would go inside it would be quicker...that was my first mistake. After placing my order via their menu system, I chose the option to pay at the counter (2nd mistake)., then stood near the counter waiting, a customer service person came out and spoke with the woman in before me, then I stood there for a further 10 minutes no one came out to serve again, eventually another customer came in and he was attended to pretty much straight away, I continued to wait in kine when the customer asked if I had been served, at which point I directed my response to the server "No, I had not been served". I then had an opportunity to be served and was told my order had not been placed as I hadn't paid, I said to her but no one has been out to counter to serve so how could I pay, I continued to ask how long would my order be if I waited to shixh she said "oh, probably 5 or so minutes depending on where i was in the queue. I asked if there was anything she could do to speed the process, to which she replied "umm no, sorry we are busy you will have to wait".....Well I guess the fact I had now waited a total of 15 minutes counted for nothing. It's about time, MacDonalds, took a leaf out of the USA and employ the older generation that:- Want to be there Care about the customer Give good customer service. I asked to speak to the manager, and the young lad who said he was the manager saidhe could only apologise for the inconvenience as he had no idea why a server didn't come to the front of house. There was no offer of trying to rush an order or if i would like a voucher. To come at another time. Just a "sorry, I don't know why." Today, it's all about pushing the customers through the door, spending as little as you can on customer service by employing very young people, or not enough staff. Even if you are using the drive-through, they are shutting the door on your face as they have already taken your money and have no further reason to engage with you. Very...

Ordered 2 happy meals and 2 soft drinks on the app. Pulled up to the speaker box and got a rushed “usintheappt-day”, to which I said yes. The response was “wotsurcode”, and I again responded in kind. “Drive down.” Drove down to the cashier. No confirmation of order, just a thumbs up. They could put a thumbs up emoji at the window and the service would be better.
Drove to the next window, was handed my drinks and told “can you park”. Notice I didn’t use a question mark? Because neither did the server. Right, so I parked, waited, in the hot sun, but I can’t blame Maccas for the heat. It’s just lousy smarch weather!
An employee came out and handed me the food, with a “here’s your food.” I couldn’t help myself, I added a sarcastic thank you.
Like, obviously, McDonald’s is not as customer focused when the delivery services take priority, but having had a McJob myself for 5-6 years, I always smiled, greeted the customer and was polite, even when I had a bad day.
“You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression.” And I’m definitely turned off by Macca’s in Australia. This was terrible service, cost way too much, and the drive thru was dead, so I have no idea why I was rushed through - would barely have been 3 minutes and 30 seconds from speaker to...
Read moreThis Mcdonalds is the worst. It's amazing if you get your order in reasonable time whether its busy or not. Numerous times I have had either the wrong food come, or have waited so long it would not be considered fast food anymore. I just now ordered a quarter pounder with extra pickles, to find it has zero pickles. Once I was there waiting for food while one of the managers at the front desk was on his phone for about 10 minutes before he chased up my order which was somehow not actually placed through properly. This leads me to believe the problems are management based and flow downstream. Just up the road is the goodwood mcdonalds which is flawless. I'm sad that I live near this franchise which i go to for the occasional treat. It's honestly been about 10 times in the span of a year, literally every time I have been to the place there has been an issue. If you have the option to, just go to any other Maccas and you'll have less fuss. This place is in dire need of quality contro. I understand it is busy and the staff may be worked hard, perhaps even overworked so either hire more staff or manage them better because this place is a mess and a bad representation of what is usually a fast and...
