Went there on Friday night. Shop was clean, not too busy for Friday night where when we arrived it was only 5 table have customers (where 3 of them already got their orders). The 3 of us only ordered : ✔️3x Spring Onion pancakes , and 1 crispy Mushrooms for our entrees. ✔️1x Seafood fried rice, 1x Seafood laksa, and 1x creamy garlic sizzling Chicken with steam jasmine rice for our main. ✔️And 2 lemon lime bitters. We arrived at 7:10pm, got the table and served with bottle of water + small buckets of prawns crackers (that was nice and quick), our orders taken by Unfriendly young girl with glasses where she seems rush us up to put our order. Finished our order at 7:20pm. 7:55pm our 2 drinks were served and 8:30 pm our entrees were served. They forgot the soy sauce that came with the pancakes, 3 serves of pancakes only 1 tiny bowl of soy sauce finally arrived after 5 minutes when we asked for. 9:15pm… still waiting for the mains to come… saw the other customers on the other 2 tables that were there waiting for their food and sat earlier when we arrived started agitated. We started whispering and heard the rest starting annoyed with the waiting. More disgusted with the staff members quickly clear the tables and NO one bother to say sorry for any of the customers who are waiting for our food hours. 9:25pm our 3 mains arrived. Food was so basic for the hours of waiting. The seafood fried rice basically only has 1 prawn cut into 4 pieces in it, 1 squid cut into 8 tiny pieces that I can count and lots of peas. Rice came so greasy and luckily it is still hot and still pleasant to eat. Creamy Garlic Sizzling Chicken, so sorry guys, no taste of garlic at all, tasteless, and the chicken very rubbery. My husband not even finished his and left the sizzling plate still full with the food. Again the jasmine rice haven’t got a chance to “review” since the rice never turned up till we left. 😅 Seafood laksa, again very basic, 2 prawns in the bowl, 1 fillet of fish, and heaps of Tofu. Average. Foods still pleasant to eat but not super great or tasty. 9:45pm we are ready to pay and leave, at the counter while the young boy handling us at counter, he left us in the middle of handling our bill and served another customer where we thought it was a bit random. Came back start counting our bill, and my husband said cut the jasmine rice from the bill as the rice still didn’t “turn up”. The very FIRST sorry form New Oriental Pearl Restaurant that night we received. “Sorry, we being very busy tonight” - that was his response. We looked at the kitchen area where you can see on the left side from the counter, there were 8 staff in the kitchen having a good time and 1 of them were sitting on the table. Literally only 2 tables still waiting for their order when we were leaving. We replied “busy?” .. the young cashier response was “hurm..” . Money wise - was Ok.. not too cheap not over price. Service.. unfortunately I have to give 1 out of 10. As bad as our experience on that night, at least 1 sorry came from the New Oriental Pearl Restaurant’s staff. I am aware that you might “busy” with delivery order (only 3-4 delivery guys came and pick up the orders from 7:15pm-9:45pm we were there), but your dine in customers is important as the online order customers. Learn the customer service and customer relations better, and would be nice some sort of acknowledgment to the customers if the orders will be running a little bit late. As a customer, personally I have no issue if I have to wait, BUT… let me know, or apologise or acknowledge my time waiting and not knowing where is my food. Even with the basic and average food can turn a great food experience if great service is served. 👍 Need lots of work guys!

This is easily the best Chinese restaurant in the council area, and can compete with any highbrow restaurant in the city. The food here is seriously GREAT! Made from heart. You just have to be patient as it's ala carte. I suggest they give a welcome snack or something for the wait. We're not even Asians but just some food adventurist but I tell you, the entire family enjoyed every bit of the foreign menu! No excess seasoning and overbearing flavors. Tried the squid, ginger fish, seafood fried rice, veggie mix, tofu hot soup, etc, all on point. Let's not forget the welcoming waiter that served us ;)

If you love extremely heavily battered minuscule meat portions which make it seem like your getting a great value & delicious meal then this is the place for you. Don’t forget to grab a side of the average special fried rice, I didn’t think this would be hard to fail at. We’ve tried Oriental Pearl multiple times over the last 12 months just to confirm it’s not a once off but unfortunately the popular dishes are always oozing with these cheap filler shortcuts which not only make them taste like a mouthful of flour they also make them way over priced. I rate the quality a 2/10

NO REAL WHEELCHAIR ACCESS! Main entrance on Magill Rd has a STEP. Alternate entrance on St Bernards Rd has NO STEP BUT IS LOCKED, with a sign saying "Use the other entrance". As a Carer, I can either leave my Father in his Wheelchair on a mildly-sloped St Bernards Rd and walk around the corner to tell restaurant staff to open the locked door (and leave my Father unsupervised), or leave him by the main entrance on a steeply-sloped Magill Rd (and hoping the Wheelchair brakes are strong enough) -- neither options are acceptable, so I angrily decided to go home. ENTERING A RESTAURANT SHOULDN'T BE THIS DIFFICULT! Google Review has a minimum of 1 Star, otherwise I would give this restaurant ZERO Stars. Beware that if the rear car park is full, dropping someone off (from the front passenger side) at the exit of the car park to St Bernards Rd that the brick edging has the potential to damage your car door (my car missed it by 'that' much!). The edging was not high enough for a driver (at night) to think that it could potentially hit the car door (like a brick wall would) -- totally not the restaurant's fault but still, BEWARE! A horrible night out indeed -- it doesn't help that I drove 17km to get there, that the other viable car park was the Magill Village Shopping Centre (which has a Foodland) that is about 2 blocks downhill from the restaurant, that my Mother and her 3 friends were too self-absorbed in their conversation to realise the lack of Wheelchair access or that I had already arrived and that I had trouble entering the restaurant (having to forcefully pull and push the locked alternate door), both of which means that they couldn't organise for the restaurant staff to unlock the alternate entrance while they were waiting for me to arrive. I will NEVER go to this restaurant...

This is the most disappointing restaurant I have been to. We chose to move to this restaurant as the one we were hoping to dine in was a 40 minutes wait, and I wished we had waited for the 40 minutes. To start with we ordered some fried mushrooms just simple fried mushrooms keep in mind that the restaurant had around 2-3 people in it. Waiting waiting waiting it’s been 20 minutes, fried mushrooms none. 30 minutes gone by and we finally had our fried mushrooms, I thought that they would bring the whole order to us but nope just starting with a 30 minutes wait fried mushroom that was over the top oily and greasy. Next well you guessed it, waiting. It has been around an hour and we had fried mushrooms served and our mini crab dish. I am totally fine with staff not checking on us but it’s been an hour and we tried to ask them what is taking so long but we couldn’t even see the staff. I’m not going to write an essay repeating the word waiting but we waited a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes to finally get all our dishes served and after that it was all everything either too oily or too bland. Overall I am not saying that I hate this restaurant because all restaurants make mistakes but I would like to encourage to...
