Was a bit nervous coming here because what looked like a small place opened into a rather grand main hall with largeish prices on the menu. Service came across a bit nonchalant on a Sunday late afternoon with an admonishment to finish within 2hrs as they needed the table back. The wait staff seem pretty busy. The young male seems to like chatting to customers but has visual field issues. Surprisingly I enjoyed every dish and while on the pricier side, all the dishes were excellent. They came plated very nicely, the ingredients were fresh and the cooking was excellent. Tried the kingfish crudo, buffalo cheese, rye papperdelle with duck confit, baked eggplant reginette and sirloin steak. The kingfish crudo was fresh and savoury. The burrata cheese was on point. Despite containing white anchovies, the anchovies added to flavour without rendering too much fishy taste into the dish. The 2 pastas were fresh and cooked al dente with excellent sauces. They get the sirloin crust just nice while not overcooking it. Whether you like anchovy in your sauce might make or break the sauce but despite not being a fan of anchovies, I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed it. One downer was the house bread which I decided to ask for was like steamed dough cake - perhaps left too long in a steam oven or cut too early before it was ready, the crumb had collapsed into a wet mess. Considering they charge an extra dollar pp for it, I would have been happier if they told me the bread wasn't feeling well that day and not served it to me. overall the food is good, the ambience is nice, service is sometimes uneven but still one of the better, albeit pricier restaurants in Adelaide.

Not a great start. No staff were to be seen. So my husband walked towards the central desk. A very rude blonde girl ordered us back towards the door in such an aggressive manner that we would have been at the back door as we stepped back away from her. We had booked a table at the bar. We were offered our original table or a table in the middle of the stream of staff traffic and were surprised when we chose the original table. The gentleman who served us at the bar has been there for some time. I recognise him from several previous visits to this restaurant . We ordered some olives as we were deciding what else to have…… wow- $1 per olive. The parmigiana flan is the absolute BEST! I share it with my partner every time because it is so yummy. It is way too rich for 1 person. Yet it is well worth sharing. Yum. Pasta- my partner ordered the sausage pasta - he loved it. It was light and delicious and he finished his plate. I ordered the Vongole. You can see from the photos that it looks delicious. Flavours were lovely. Clams. Yum. Yet the pasta was way too thick and heavy for this delicate dish. I left the place of thick heavy pasta that didn’t match the delicate clams. Interesting that no one should ask why I left the large plate of pasta. The vibe is always great here and as a rule, the food is good,so we keep coming back. Yet, I felt pretty stung with the price of olives and uneaten pasta. Certain staff members eg the blonde girl who was incredibly rude to us initially, needs to have a long hard look at her customer service skills. If I wasn’t limited by time or was a new customer, I would have walked out.

What a Gem! Food, Wine, Drinks and Service all 5* We had just hopped off a plane from Melbourne on a Monday night in Adelaide so options were limited in CBD. After 2x swings and misses on our shortlist of "Highly Rated Restaurants in Adelaide" by Broadsheet where the staff studiously avoided us after seating us and many patrons around us were sitting in front of empty plates/glasses, we opted to go with our gut and vote with our feet as in our experience... first impressions count! Fortunately we persevered and made it to the 3rd on our list Osteria Oggi. Thank You for being a beacon of how Restaurant hospitality should be done. All the staff were, engaged, friendly, interested and knowledgeable... not in a creepy/artificial way.. but in a genuine and honest " we want you to have a great experience, how can I make it better for you?" way. Lovely glass of Champagne for her and Martini for him (extra credit for the iced glass) to start, beautiful home baked bread and olio accompanying an outstanding Beef Carpaccio and 2x amazingly delicious Croquettes. Followed by a wonderful Blue Aspanner Crab based Tagliatelle that even if it was slightly over al dente did not detract from the overall experience especially when accompanied by a reccomended, and truly spectacular, 2022 Chardonnay By Farr. Overall a terrific dinner at the long bar, made even better by the lovely staff that continued to look after us superbly. Well done Team, we look forward to a return visit soon.

Food was amazing as always, especially the oven baked reginette - a must when you come here. But the service was genuinely the most disappointing service I have literally ever experienced at a restaurant. I have come here so many times and the service is usually great, but this time the entire energy the staff was giving towards myself and my friend was extremely cold, rude and dismissive. I was seated at the bar and was on time, but my friend was running late. It was 5 minutes into my sitting and I wasn’t given a menu, so I asked the bartender if it’s possible to order and eat food whilst seated at the bar as I genuinely wasn’t aware if we could as I wasn’t given a menu, and he told me “if you want” - ??? Following this, I had to ask if there was a menu that I could order food from because he still hadn’t given it to me, and he answered by laughing and just handing me the menu. I waited until my friend came to order, and then got down from my seat to ask a waitress if there was anywhere I could charge my phone as the bartenders were all occupied, to which she replied “you’re going to have to ask your bartender that” - I’ve never been to a restaurant where a server has told me I have to ask someone else for a charger, it was just rude and lazy. After me and my friend had finished our last plate and were still sipping our drinks (btw this was not even an hour after we initially ordered), the rude bartender from the beginning just stood in front of us from the bar side and waited for us to look over at him, asking if we would like the bill - for context, the ladies next to us came in the exact same time and were also finished with their food, still sipping their drinks like us, and he did not ask them this. Genuinely the worst experience I have ever had - I would never be saying this if the restaurant was packed, but this was at 5:15pm on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was almost empty whilst we were there. I will not be coming back here even though I’ve come here so many times before and want to emphasize how disappointing this was as this was one of my favourite...
