During my visit to Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe, I was left with mixed feelings regarding the menu offerings. While the overall experience was pleasant, I must admit that I had higher expectations for a more interesting and enticing menu selection.
The cafe's ambiance and service were commendable, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our visit. However, upon perusing the menu, I found myself hoping for a more unique and captivating array of dishes.
While the food we ordered was prepared well and presented nicely, it lacked the creativity and innovation that I was anticipating. The menu seemed to be missing those standout options that would truly pique my interest and elevate the dining experience. It would have been exciting to see a greater emphasis on bold flavors, unique ingredient combinations, or even some adventurous twists on traditional favorites.
Although the food we enjoyed at Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe was satisfying, I left with a slight sense of missed opportunity. I believe that a more diverse and alluring menu selection could elevate the overall dining experience and entice patrons to return for more exceptional culinary adventures.
In conclusion, while I appreciate the pleasant ambiance and attentive service at Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe, I had hoped for a more enticing and innovative menu. I believe that a more interesting and attracting selection would enhance the overall dining experience and create a stronger appeal for customers seeking a unique...
Read moreThis place was highly recommended by several pages so I thought I’d give it a try . Inside , there is an open kitchen and lots of plants, which is usually very promising . And the coffee was Five Senses , which is a good solid coffee bean from Melbourne, which I’ve had before, but unfortunately it tasted quite bitter . My friend got his replaced- but the second coffee he couldn’t finish either , which is very unusual. I ordered a soba noodle salad, which I was quite excited about , as I love soba ( and you can get them gluten free , it not often ) but unfortunately they were substituted with vermicelli noodles which were quite hard and chewy, and I hadn’t been told about it . The staff member that served us was quite young and very friendly and welcoming, but the staff at the front that day was obviously going through the motions and didn’t respond to the question that I asked her . It seems to be nice for families as they have an area for young kids , and the music is in the background so you can have a conversation, so that’s a positive. I don’t really like criticising and there are quite a few positive things about this place , but I feel that the food and service leaves a bit to be desired . Maybe I just got them on...
Read moreSays open at 6:30am but kitchen doesn’t open until 7am. Wasted my time driving there. EDIT
While your website may list the kitchen hours, it's not visible in a quick Google search, which displays only 'open now.' This led to confusion and frustration when I arrived expecting the kitchen to be fully operational at 6:30am. So your use of ‘clearly’ is dismissive. As a tradesman with a busy schedule, accurate information at a glance is crucial, and your online presence doesn’t provide that.
Additionally, your response to my review was less than professional and didn't reflect an understanding of the importance of timely service for all customers. While you may cater to the majority of your early guests, who obviously aren’t there to eat, it's vital to consider the needs of others who require a full-service experience at the advertised opening time.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed, and I won't be returning to your cafe due your dismissive and...
