During my visit to Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe, I was left with mixed feelings regarding the menu offerings. While the overall experience was pleasant, I must admit that I had higher expectations for a more interesting and enticing menu selection.

The cafe's ambiance and service were commendable, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The staff members were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our visit. However, upon perusing the menu, I found myself hoping for a more unique and captivating array of dishes.

While the food we ordered was prepared well and presented nicely, it lacked the creativity and innovation that I was anticipating. The menu seemed to be missing those standout options that would truly pique my interest and elevate the dining experience. It would have been exciting to see a greater emphasis on bold flavors, unique ingredient combinations, or even some adventurous twists on traditional favorites.

Although the food we enjoyed at Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe was satisfying, I left with a slight sense of missed opportunity. I believe that a more diverse and alluring menu selection could elevate the overall dining experience and entice patrons to return for more exceptional culinary adventures.

In conclusion, while I appreciate the pleasant ambiance and attentive service at Pickle in the Middle - Unley Cafe, I had hoped for a more enticing and innovative menu. I believe that a more interesting and attracting selection would enhance the overall dining experience and create a stronger appeal for customers seeking a unique...

This place was highly recommended by several pages so I thought I’d give it a try . Inside , there is an open kitchen and lots of plants, which is usually very promising . And the coffee was Five Senses , which is a good solid coffee bean from Melbourne, which I’ve had before, but unfortunately it tasted quite bitter . My friend got his replaced- but the second coffee he couldn’t finish either , which is very unusual. I ordered a soba noodle salad, which I was quite excited about , as I love soba ( and you can get them gluten free , it not often ) but unfortunately they were substituted with vermicelli noodles which were quite hard and chewy, and I hadn’t been told about it . The staff member that served us was quite young and very friendly and welcoming, but the staff at the front that day was obviously going through the motions and didn’t respond to the question that I asked her . It seems to be nice for families as they have an area for young kids , and the music is in the background so you can have a conversation, so that’s a positive. I don’t really like criticising and there are quite a few positive things about this place , but I feel that the food and service leaves a bit to be desired . Maybe I just got them on...

Says open at 6:30am but kitchen doesn’t open until 7am. Wasted my time driving there. EDIT

While your website may list the kitchen hours, it's not visible in a quick Google search, which displays only 'open now.' This led to confusion and frustration when I arrived expecting the kitchen to be fully operational at 6:30am. So your use of ‘clearly’ is dismissive. As a tradesman with a busy schedule, accurate information at a glance is crucial, and your online presence doesn’t provide that.

Additionally, your response to my review was less than professional and didn't reflect an understanding of the importance of timely service for all customers. While you may cater to the majority of your early guests, who obviously aren’t there to eat, it's vital to consider the needs of others who require a full-service experience at the advertised opening time.

Unfortunately, this experience has left me disappointed, and I won't be returning to your cafe due your dismissive and...

A good place to go for brunch in Unley. For us, it would not be our first choice to go, but a very close second. Would recommend for people with families, as it is set up well for them. They even have a play area. The only issue with this is it gets quite loud in a small eating area. Inside it is very modern, clean but a little dark. I actually feel like we are sitting at the cafeteria at IKEA! Service has been fantastic every time we have gone, and probably why we do go back. When we have had to ask about adjustments to a dish, they have been more than helpful, and suggested options for us. Great service, attentive and fast. Now the food is pretty good for what it is. Not much imagination in the menu, as mostly standard fare on offer. The dishes we have had have been done very well though, so we have no complaints. We would recommend the beans on toast. Overall, a good spot to go if that is the type of place you are looking for or prefer.

Due to COVID, we had to call to reserve a table first. Only a second after my call ended, I received a text message to confirm booking our table. Upon arrival, the staff showed us our table. There's a little spot for kids to play or read a book. The food arrived relatively quickly, and the food quality was fantastic. The coffee was great. There were some jams and paste to buy that I am tempted to buy next time I go there. I didn't ask, but they appeared to be homemade possibly. The staff was so friendly. When I asked one of the waitresses a question, she actually walked across the table and stood beside me to answer my question. That's incredible. I hadn't seen such behavior in many cafes. She showed that she genuinely cared about a customer's question. All in all, this place is a must to go depending on you, to either grab a takeaway coffee or chillax inside.
