PunThai Restaurant — Restaurant in Adelaide

I have to admit, I was pretty disappointed tonight. It has been a while since I have been to Pun Thai...and I'm sad to say that this restaurant has gone downhill. We arrived at 6.15pm and ordered almost straight away. Our spring rolls came out relatively quickly....and then there was a wait of almost an hour until we got our mains....which didn't all come at once! My main got served first, my partner's came 5 minutes later and his grandmother's came 15 minutes after that. We waited for so long and couldn't even eat together. By the time we finished eating, it was 8pm...over 90 minutes since we arrived. There was only one waitress on the floor who was run off her feet. At least one more FOH staff was definitely required. While there were two chefs in the kitchen, they were not efficient. Uber Eats pickups seemed to get priority over customers coming in. And the restaurant was freezing! Turn the bloody heaters on!! The food was fine...but what's the point when you wait so long and everyone at your table gets served at separate times?? For $95 I expect better. We...

The restaurant is located in Prospect, close to other shops and restaurants in the area. The staff were so friendly and professional and helpful. The food was so nice, authentic and delicious. Pad Thai was so good and the prawns were cooked to perfection. The barramundi fish was just amazing, fresh and tasty with a lovely sweet and sour sauce on top. The duck was so balanced, tender and tasty. Really liked the dishes. Just couple of suggestions: the coconut rice was a bit different to the ones i had in Thai restaurants. Seems that it has been mixed with coconut milk after cooking i stead of being cooked in the milk which makes a huge difference. The decor, wall painting and etc need to be taken care of since there are stains, dents and etc which do not look good for a restaurant. The rice did not taste like jasmine rice ( no aroma and different flavours) The online booking system needs to be more organised and updated since we booked online and got the confirmation but it was not on the restaurant's list. Very bad service!! Came here for a celebration, left with utter disappointment!!! Firstly, the restaurant wasn't even full.I had booked a reservation and had got a seat near the kitchen. Then, we had to wait for over an hour for our food.The irony is the customers who sat next to us came 30 minutes later to the restaurant and were served before us. I had to tell the staff to serve us and only once I told them which is now 1 hour later as I ran out of patience did they say we are making your order. So you can imagine my frustration.
